It’s clear that greed and corruption stem from the owners. Their dishonest policies and practices give honest staff a bad reputation and force them to lie and cheat customers. After nearly two years as a loyal Fuji Spa customer, I’ve witnessed a shocking decline in quality and honesty. The staff remains wonderful, but poor management and deceptive practices have ruined the experience.
Here’s why I won’t return:
Dishonest Refund Process Accounting Lies: Their chief accountant falsely claimed a 5% credit card fee until confronted (actual fee: 3.5%). Used absurd ”cumulative math" to justify two 5% fees = 10%, a blatant lie since fees are per-transaction. The accountant’s attempt showed incompetence and bad faith.
Bait-and-Switch Promotions: Spent 24M VND for advertised benefits, which Fuji refused to honor 0% of during my refund. Revoked 100% of promotions, and even tried to deduct credits from an already used separate session based package, effectively stealing from my refund.
Systemic Deception Deceptive Price Hikes: Mandatory 10% "VAT"—a cash grab, since VAT was already included pre-reform. They claimed it wasn’t to increase revenue from customers, but couldn’t explain why prices didn’t drop 10% to offset the new collection method. Private rooms doubled overnight to 200K VND (claimed "demand," yet rooms are never full).
Fake Explanations: Claimed favorite therapists were "hospitalized" when they were actually fired or quit (I confirmed with one).
Tips & Reviews Scams: Tips don’t go to masseurs, they’re forced to hand them to the company. Inflated reviews (10% discount for leaving one), negated by their “new” 10% VAT.
System Favors Squeezing Customers: Their standard practice is to delay as long as possible to exploit tourists and foreigners who may leave before resolving disputes (confirmed by ex-employees). Two service members helped me, but the refund process took 12 days because the accountant delayed, lied, and backtracked at every step to cheat me.
Degrading Customer Experience Cost-cutting and Worker Exploitation: Despite opening a 5th branch and raising prices, Fuji has cut wages and fired top staff (confirmed by ex-employees).
Tech Failures: 8+ failed attempts to update my phone number led to missed alerts and a surprise 75K "free" drink charge. The accountant then "mistakenly" deducted an extra 75K from my refund instead of refunding it.
Snack Downgrades: Added a cheap and tiny dish called chè khúc bạch to the post-treatment dessert.
The Root Problem: Greedy Ownership
This isn’t about staff—many therapists, receptionists, and customer service employees remain wonderful. The blame lies entirely with leadership.
The owners have: Prioritized greed over the staff who built their reputation Lied rather than listen to loyal customers Cut every corner (from desserts to wages) while raising prices Devalue membership funds with shady tactics
To Customers: The full body massages are still good, but don’t trust Fuji with your money. Prices keep rising, staff are overworked and underpaid, and management is corrupt.
To the Owner: Your success came from customers and hardworking employees you’re now betraying.
Final Verdict: Until ownership reforms, take your...
Read moreMy first impression was very good as it is definitely the most professional looking massage place I’ve been to. What feels a little bit pushy though is that the moment you step in there and ask about prices you’re being steered into a separate room and are presented with their long “massage menu” accompanied by some green tea (I wonder what they do if you decide not to get the massage). When you decide for one kind of massage you’re getting a questionnaire that asks for special needs/ areas of your body that should/ should not be focused on (again: really professional). Before you can actually take a sip of that tea though you’re being led to the treatment rooms upstairs. Unfortunately they don’t really seem to pay much attention to that questionnaire as my Thai massage was very average. Right after the massage you’re being led yet into another room/area of the facilities where you’re being served another cup of tea and some mango - together with another form that asks for a tip with a minimum suggested amount of 150k (which in my case would have been 40%). The whole experience felt unfortunately very...
Read moreFirst night , foot massage was good. Second night, full body massage . Below average and she insisted on tips . Wanted to give a token sum but was shown a irritated face. She then explained to me that I need to tip the same amount as what I have paid for the massage (??). I was also given a feedback form and the amount that I want to tip, which I have to sign against. At the counter , I was reluctant to pay the tip but she insisted to the counter that I am okay to pay.
She wore a uniform without a badge , so I suppose she is from another massage shop. If you are unable to provide the quality for extended massage on the day itself , either remove this option or ask me to choose sth else.
Yes, the prices are cheap. But tips are tips, you can say we should pay a small % but being forced to pay 100% tips is definitely a no-go for me.
Next time, it might be better to just stick to the...
