This hotel was difficult to communicate with to start with. They initially responded to my messages on Expedia chat and then suddenly stopped. Even after repeated messages they didn't reply. So I had to call Expedia and ask them to contact the hotel. The hotel provided an email address to communicate with. I emailed them twice with no response. Finally I had to make an international phone call and ask them to check my email. Then they replied.
They arranged pickup service from the airport and I was supposed to pay USD $25 for the trip. The lady who came to receive us told me to pay her, so I paid her. Then she put us in a car which took us to the hotel. On reaching the driver asked for $25 USD, and he said he doesn't know the lady I have to pay him. So right away I was scammed and had to pay double the cost. I reported this to the hotel front desk and lady was totally nonchalant about it. She just said sorry and went about her job. On telling her that the hotel's reputation is at stake, she said oh I am sorry for the inconvenience. Any good hotel would have returned me the $25 and dealt with the pick up service themselves.
The room seemed to be quite decent when we went in. But after I took a shower, we found out that the shower was leaking and there was water all over. I reported this to the room service. Forget repairing or moving us to another room, I had to report this 5 times to room service, reception and the employees cleaning rooms on our floor before I got a set of extra towels to contain the water. So during our entire stay we had to deal with wet towels all over the bathroom floor.
Then the deadbolt on our room door wasn't working. Again after reporting this 3 times did someone came and fixed it. They literally had to replace a part.
After all this, instead of providing me some discount or some kind of compensation they had the audacity to charge me for the peanuts which I had from the mini fridge. I gave them the money without even arguing. Such a shameless bunch of people. They didn't even bother to ask us, how was our stay.
Another weird thing I would like to mention is that their breakfast is a buffet breakfast but you are not allowed to get your own food. There is someone serving for you. That creates unnecessary delays for people waiting to have their food. Not sure whose smart idea was that.
Overall, I ain't going back there nor am I recommending this...
Read moreThose who want to experience Nightmare.. Don't hesitate to book this hotel. We stayed this 4-star rated hotel for 2 days which costed us about $250 per day. When we got back to the hotel after visiting Iguas su, we realized that we lost all our luggage except for a single bag. They said they would check CCTV when the manager comes tomorrow morning(We couldn't sleep at all), and the manager said that they just kindly gave them to the 'Unidentified visitor' who lost his luggage tag, because he claimed the luggage, while their CCTV systems had been black out temporarily(What a wonderful excuse!) . What's worse, the 'Great' crew arrogantly told us not to expect good compensation with our '28-inch size Tiny Luggage'. So, what size do you have that they call 'Large enough'? Yes, we've just lost our priceless souvenirs($1,800 or more) + Thousands dollars of Cameras, lens, IPhones. Now, we just have few clothes that we brought. I envy the hotel manager for saying $1,800 is not a big deal. Our belongings for a 2-month trip just disappeared and the staff even seemed to have no idea of what's going on before we desperately searched for our luggage by 'Ourselves' for 2 days.
Thank you for the previous 7 days. I'm still waiting for your answer(Not a 3-day complimentary stay. Are you kidding? me? I don't have luggage to be lost any more) THOSE WHO wanna make your vacation Nightmare, visit this perfect HOTEL!
*Plus, Should you ask for the compensation for your loss, contact directly to the insurance agency rather than talk to the manager because he would treat you as a scammer, doing nothing but keep saying 'I have no idea and I am not responsible...
Read moreI stayed at the Grand Brizo Hotel in a king suite with balcony for seven days. I had just been traveling for a week in Bolivia, and wanted a hotel that was super clean. This hotel fit the bill. The daily maid service was fantastic, and the breakfast every morning was the best I had during my month-long stay in South America. The staff was wonderful. My one quibble about the check in is that I was never told about breakfast and there was never any effort to help me with my luggage. What the hotel lacked, however, was character. The hotel is a very modern, American-style building but it doesn’t have any charm specific to Buenos Aires. The rooms are spacious but lack much decoration. Two small points to note: the balcony faces the Central Boulevard and the traffic noise is quite loud. You can’t hear any noise when you shut the door at night, but to stay out on the balcony as I did one night and try to watch a movie on my laptop wasn’t possible. The traffic noise was that distracting. Also, for some reason the toilet is several inches above what it would be in America. I am not a short girl by any means, but when I sat down on the toilet my feet were dangling off the edge. It was uncomfortable and weird. Also, all the toilet come straight out from the wall as a post to American style toilets where you actually sit on a toilet based on the ground. It was just kind of awkward it made me think I was going to break the thing every time I sit down on it. In short, I probably would not stay here again. The hotel was very centrally located but next time I would like to search for something...
