Bella Vista Suite, Pet welcome. — Hotel in Airlie Beach

We took up residence in this magnificient property for a week before all of the COVID19 madness started. It was an absolutely superb holiday. The views from the deck, as we dined on our breakfast on the covered outdoor deck, were breathtaking. We usually grabbed some lunch and dinner at one of the many fine eateries around town while we were touring around. There is so much to do and see in this location that we decided this is going to be our "Go to Place" for all of our future holidays. The shops and restaurants are within walking distance but we usually drove (because we were in holiday mode).

We had heaps of room in the house for our group. Next time, we may invite another couple (and our puppy, who was in a dog kennel during out time here) to join us. The only complaint anyone had during our stay was when I overcooked the burgers on the BBQ on the fantastic deck with the view. We will definitely be staying here again in future. The hosts of this property are very reasonable people and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with them.

In my opinion this was the worst stay we've had with booking.com

We arrived at 5pm and contacted the host to hear from the hosts husband that she was out walking her dog. My family and, velatives and I waited 1 hour to her back from the host before being able to feed our children. Soon after we had been given the code to get into the house we then realised that the place had not been cleaned prior to the last people staying. Beds not mad, wet towls on floors, water on benches, the list goes on. This was a huge inconvie to us as our 3 children and 2 infients should have been in bed by 6pm rather then 9pm taking the cleaners 2 hours before we could settle. Not to mention when the cleanwrs let the floors were still not vacumed or moped.

The host offered some beer and said can I make it up to you before you go?

When I politely asked for a refund for half the amount for the first night the husband advised that he would get back to me once he had spoken to som people.

We never heard back. The first night was an absolute disarster and was not worth the money we paid.

Terrible attitude from the person that runs this place. Please see attached photos showing the messages exchanged between us. I was too naive. I should have held out for her to initiate the cancellation at the end, and then I could have also left a negative review on Booking.com. Because (fortunately) we didn't stay there and because I ended up initiating the cancellation in the end, Booking.com will not allow me to record what happened. Never a hint of an apology. Please don't stay there.

Update: The initial response to my review from Mary has now been deleted (photo 5 shows the start of that response) to the response below that now denies any knowledge of me! How dishonest can someone be? Please don’t give this woman the pleasure of taking your money.
