Broome Beach Resort CABLE BEACH — Hotel in Cable Beach

Located one road away from Cable Beach and only 1 minute from Divers pub. The resort is self contained providing the customer with a full furnished apartment with plenty of space. The kitchen has a coffee machine (pods), kettle, toaster, fridge. An outdoor dining area which is fairly private. 2 bedrooms- the first bedroom holds two single beds whilst the second bedroom houses a single double bed. Top tip for the bathroom- when taking a shower, for hot water turn the knob to cold and wait a little, and for cold turn the knob to hot. First couple days we stayed here it was cold showers then discovered it's back to front, very smart.

The reception here is open from 8am-5pm most days where you can ask for extra coffee pods or any other general inquiries. The business also provides BBQs and a very generous pool area for the kids and adults.

If you do stay, recommended would be to have a permanent means of travel whilst here. We hired a vehicle for 6 days costing $390 at the airport. Also hired bikes. From this location, Woolworths is 5min drive away whilst the main centre of Broome is an extra 2mins...

Our stay at Broome Beach Resort was absolutely fantastic! The new owners have truly transformed the property, elevating it to a whole new level of quality and comfort. Just a 4-minute walk from the beach, these laid-back vacation apartments are perfectly located, also being 3.5 km from Cable Beach town centre and 5 km from Broome International Airport.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom split-level apartment, which was fabulous for our family. The apartment was simple, clean, and comfortable, with a private patio, a fully-equipped kitchen complete with a dishwasher, and a cozy living area with a flat-screen TV. The free Wi-Fi and in-unit washer/dryer were great added conveniences.

The resort's amenities are superb. We enjoyed the tropical-style gardens, the solar-heated outdoor pool, and the kids' pool. The gazebo and BBQ area were perfect for relaxing family evenings. The new management has clearly put a lot of effort into making this a top-notch destination, and it shows in every detail. We highly recommend Broome Beach Resort and can't wait to return! Based on my personal experience, with evidence to support it: • 19 May 2025 – an unpaid “trial” advertised as 2 hours became productive work from 8:00 am to 12:40 pm, with no pay. • Shifts of up to 8 hours were worked with no mandatory meal break. • No payslips or wages have been provided, even though Thursday was confirmed as payday. • My visa documents were submitted via the link you supplied as soon as it was received.

Several other backpackers have contacted me to say they experienced similar issues (unpaid trials, missed breaks, outstanding wages).

A case has now been lodged with the Fair Work Ombudsman and a report submitted to SafeWork WA. I remain willing to resolve this matter in line with Australian law – full payment of all hours worked, penalty rates for missed breaks, and the issue of payslips.
