Cable Beach General Store & Café — Restaurant in Western Australia

Having been coming to the RAC park for our 4 yrs consecutively we have noticed a HUGE drop in food quality. I personally have not eaten there and judging by the reviews of other patrons of the park the word is " dismal". Their fish + chips used to be better than the wharf but not anymore. A friend had mentioned even the seagulls would turn their nose up at the chips they were that bad... I hate writing bad reviews but please take note and lift up your game as this could be an amazing place again if not better. I understand the new owners will have teething problems but just look at the tables. We used be pushing to book into this place as it was always so popular ~ people enjoying GREAT food and a glass of wine. Unfortunately this is no longer the case... The main guy here delivers such bad customer service I will never go here again. He makes you feel rushed and unwelcome from the moment you interact with him. We ordered oat milk coffees, they came out as regular milk. When my friend took them back he said he’d get them made again then brought the same coffees out to us saying very rudely that they were definitely oat milk and showed us the brand of oat milk they use and told us that perhaps it didn’t taste like the oat milk we were used to. I had had oat coffees there on many occasions but these ones tasted very very different to usual and made both of us feel slightly ill after drinking a bit of it. I would like to say that the food is amazing, the service is outstanding. To my disappointment when I went into the store today, the manager was a complete shocker. She was herding the staff in full view of the customers and raising her voice telling them how incompetent and useless they were. The poor staff were standing there bewildered after what was a very busy rush period. I understand that a manager needs to ensure that things are up to scratch but it should be done in private away from the counter where customers are waiting and should be done in order to coach and improve - not to belittle people.
