Arrived with a caravan for a 12 day stay. Requested a specific bay at check in but was sternly told 'we are fully booked' when we noticed plenty of empty bays. We were given a site that was unshaded and full sun most of the day. The bay I asked about on check in, that was a shady site, was empty for 2 days then a Maui van pulled in for a couple of nights, bay empty again for a day, then a caravan arrived. We were very disappointed that we werent allowed that particular bay? After being told that bays can't be reserved when originally booking I don't understand why we weren't given the option of a bay that was vacant on our arrival especially since we were staying for 12 days. I heard a staff member telling a guest that if they were an RAC member they can request a specific bay. I have been a member for 48 years and was NOT given any special consideration. The park states it is pet friendly but there are NO dog poo bags anywhere in the park. Luckily I arrived with plenty in tow. The park states it is smoke free, however we saw several people smoking on the grounds and other guests at the park make remarks about those rules not being followed. The park was busy and the ablutions where not a nice place to visit. Since there where so many people at the park it would have been appropriate for more frequent cleaning of the ablutions. The bays are not easy to get into, very tight, and many people where of the same opinion as us. The roads within the park had a high build up of sand and stones and where in dire need of a road sweep. A very disappointing experience especially since we had such an awful unshaded site when we asked for something different on arrival. For an RAC caravan park the welcoming at check in was not as friendly as we would have expected. Can't think of one good thing to say about the park, would never recommend it to anyone and needless to say will...
Read moreWe stayed at the RAC during the dry season and were fortunate to get a spot, as most sites are pre-booked every year by the same grey nomads for the entire dry season (June-August). Many of them start leaving around September as the heat sets in, heading south again. Personally, I don't think this should be allowed, considering the remote location. It's frustrating to see sites locked down for such long periods when many families with small children or pets are left having to stay at the overflow camp (pistol club) with limited powered sites and no air conditioning. They miss out on truly experiencing Broome because of this.
The caravan park itself is probably the cleanest in the area, and its location is fantastic – just a 400m walk to Cable Beach’s main area or 200m over the sand dune.
The grounds staff were wonderful. Unfortunately, one lady in the office really let the team down. After multiple rude interactions, I realized it wasn’t just a bad day – it was her usual attitude.
The park is incredibly busy and fully booked, so you end up feeling like just another number. If you leave unhappy, it doesn't seem to matter much, as they’ll easily fill your site with the next person.
Having done a full lap of Australia and stayed at over 100 caravan parks, this was sadly the worst customer service we’ve experienced. Many other guests shared the same sentiment about this one particular office staff member. When we raised a complaint, the manager was apologetic but made excuses for the staff member's behaviour.
On the positive side, the sites are large and shady, and the amenities are modern and clean. Leaves do tend to gather on the sites, but the groundsmen, especially Lee, do a fantastic job cleaning up daily. Lee, in particular, was a true gentleman – always helpful, with a friendly hello and a smile. He's definitely an asset...
Read moreLOVE this place!!! We initially dropped off the caravan for a service in Broome, thinking we would get that done and keep heading south but then hubby said why don't we stay in Broome for a day or 2, lets check out a couple of caravan parks and see what they have......first stop was here and the welcome we got was amazing, such friendly staff....even got the usual disparaging comment on hubbys choice of Carlton Footy number plates! :-) 😂 We felt welcome from the minute we arrived.....Jacqui suggested we have a look around the park for the best spot for us to park up, half the park was closed for maintenance but there were still many options at this time of year and we found the spot we wanted so booked for a couple of nights.....definitely no need to check out any other parks!
First day hubby met Todd and I swear they were a match made in heaven.....definitely 2 peas in a pod! Todd was always racing around but always had time to stop and chat to all the guests, albeit the weather or the temperature of the pool! Oh yeah, the pool is awesome, so relaxing, sometimes the temp was too hot but it was still nice to chill out listening to the local radio!
In the end we booked for an extra week, too nice and very comfortable! Highly recommend this place.... we even had breakfast twice at the Cafe adjoined to the park. Overall I give 100% (We did talk to other amazing folks/workers here but I have forgotten your names sorry....the guy I chatted to about Carnarvon and the lovely girl in the office when I booked for an extra week).
Todd kept us updated with the possible cyclone coming in and had great suggestions for places to stay south of here, what a gem he is!
The park is amazing, clean ablutions, great sites, shady spots, friendly staff! Todd us an...
