We live in town and have always rated Bali Hai highly based on our previous experiences. As a couple who doesn't often have time for a break away, who values a quality time occasion, we booked a table online for 13:45. The important reservation information noted that we had a 15 minute grace period to arrive and would have the table for around 2 hours. We arrived, for our inside seated booking. On being led to our table by our waitress, a lady interjected and advised that would could only sit outside, as the restaurant would be closing in 15 minutes and they would shortly start packing up the restaurant. We were welcome to sit outside, but had to order food and drinks in 15 minutes. We would be allowed to continue having our meal in the outside area, for any orders we placed in 15 minutes. Nowhere on the reservation was it noted that the restaurant would be closing shortly after our booking slot. On the rare off time, the last thing needed is to be rushed through a meal as an inconvenience, and I find it bizarre that you would take a reservation, without any warning, 15 minutes before the restaurant closes. The lady that advised us was short, rude and matter of fact when we tried to express our surprise. Fair to say, we left and went somewhere else, where we spent a lovely afternoon, enjoying a three course meal and drinks, at our leisure. As a local, I won't be booking our next special occasion or any meal...

Beautifully decorated wooden carved walls mixed with the tropical horticulture sure makes this place feel as though we are in Asia. I especially loved the indoor dining area, the beautiful wooden flooring and the folded glassed windows reminds me of home.

The service was good, most of the time, except when it came to getting the waitresses attention…

The meat was beautiful as per the many reviews provided previously. The beef in the spicy beef Thai salad was amazing. The salad and the sauce, however, did not complement the dish.

Once more, the meat dish - the lamb fillet was delicious. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

The Thai green curry tasted alright ish. It would have made the perfect vegetarian dish if I had chosen the tofu option. It had shaved cucumber, bak choy, green beans (undercooked), cauliflower, leek, and spring onion. All the vegetables needed in a day - 5 vegetables and 2 fruits.

The dessert - the ganache was alright. Rich in chocolate! But the liquorice was missing. Maybe it was added but lacked flavour or forgotten…

In conclusion, beautiful ambience and beautifully cooked meat. However, Asians, be warned, don’t order Asian...

Walking in for the start of dinner (5pm), I was met with an empty restaurant, and yet the atmosphere was welcoming, friendly (bordering on romantic), stunning, and well presented. The music was perfect and at an appropriate volume.

The staff (week deserved and massive shout out to Nancy & Tanya) were friendly, helpful, and well presented. I had dietary requirements that were respectfully double-checked, observed, and ensured.

They were both prompt, knowledgeable, welcoming, and attentive. When I asked about the ingredients of the dish, they knew.

I had a single table near the bar, which most might complain about. However, it had the most amazing view of the sunset, and the events coming out of the kitchen were delicious.

The chef is to be acknowledged for their menu! Just wow. The snow crab is a must (unless you're allergic). The sommelier is to be applauded on WA wines and some great pairing options for the menu. I recommend the Petite Jete, Sartori Pinot Griggio, Puppetmaster & Yilgarnia.

I also recommend bookings, at this time of year, for 5-6pm to...

The best meal I have eaten! Customer service was fabulous, we arrived for our booking (recommend) 30min early and the team were fairly accommodating. The floor manager quickly branch us a bottle of wine we ordered offering tastings first. Food came out quickly and was divine! Spanner crab was an amazing starter with a combination of textures and not an overly "crabby" taste. We decided to go halves in a Reef and Beef and let the waitress know we would be sharing. The chef was kind enough to find two small steaks and plate the meals separately which was very considerate. The steak was well seasoned and medium rare, cooked to perfection. An extremely large prawn accompanied by the smoothest and creamiest truffle mash. The scallop was amazing and not overcooked. Thanks so much for not only being the best meal in Broome, but one of the best overall experiences I've had dining to date.

Only open for Breakfast and Dinner. 7-10:30am Breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and considerate. We turned around 7am and they were trimming the hedge with a fairly loud power tool, as soon as they realised we were here he apologised and was going to stop - we told him to finish off - he had almost finished! Coffee is drinkable - its not Melbourne! The food was very good! Service was also good. They are not open for lunch. 4:00pm They reopen for Drinks - good selection even if the wine list is s little limited you are likely to find something you like. The cocktails are good! 5:30pm They start dinner service, the meals have an Asian influence - but its not Asian food as such. The dishes we had were very good, modestly priced and served with love - it felt like the staff really liked working here and enjoyed serving you.
