My vacation in Broome was perfect until I dined at Divers Tavern! My blissful Broome experience quickly dissipated when I had dinner at the restaurant. When I checked into my hotel, I was delighted to find out that Divers Tavern had beef cheeks special on Tuesday as it is my favourite dish. I made a detour on my way to Cable Beach to check it out to make sure I was going to satisfy my beef cheek craving and was told I didnât need a reservation for dinner. I even canceled another dinner reservation at a different restaurant just so that I could get my beef cheek fix at Divers.
Come dinner, it was busy when I arrived, but I managed to get a table for 2. After ordering 2 servings of beef cheek special at the service counter for me and my wife, I waited in anticipation to sink my teeth into tender, succulent beef that I had been looking forward to all day and even sacrificed my reservation at another seafood joint. I was ahead of the long queue so it shouldnât take long - so I thought. But alas, I waited and waited but it didnât come. Guests at other tables who arrived after me had their meals and left. Meanwhile, plates of beef cheeks were flying to other tables. I didnât want to ask the waiters as they were busy and after all, I was on holiday, so whatâs the rush, right?
After nearly 45 minutes, a waiter passed by and said my food was coming soon. But no beef cheek after even more waiting.
Finally, after waiting more than an hour, a waiter came up and said they had run out of beef cheeks and so I was not going to get mine! What!!!! He offered to replace it with beef brisket which cost more but I didnât have to pay the extra. But that was not the point. I want my beef cheeks, period! I had come in the afternoon to check it out, I was ahead in the queue, I had cancelled another reservation just to be at Divers Tavern for their Tuesday Beef Cheek special. And they failed and disappointed me miserably!!

Because of a comment a staff member took offence too whilst watching afl on the big screen, which turned into accusation of sexual assault and being evicted. We left on our own accord. We tried to contact tavern numerous times the following weeks with no response. Today some weeks later, my hubby and I went there for sat lunch. Sitting at a table quietly waiting for lunch a man approaches and asks us to leave. No clue who this man is. No introduction. But apparently because of 'incident' few weeks ago we are banned for life from this premises. On entering today I spoke to the female person involved and not a word on 'not' being allowed back there. No fear no angst nothing but politeness from both sides.. No one was harmed, no one assaulted, no one abused! Yet not serious enough for police to be involved but enough to be banned. Ive lived in Broome nearly 28 years. Never before heard of such arrogance and false belief from management. Absolutely one sided apparent authority throwing persons. No discussion with us at any time about being banned! Ever! So ok. We'll never support you again. Never spend our $ there again, and our friends who know us also abandoning you.    Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE FEMALE MANAGER : Me and my partner came in for a drink last night WED 16th around 9pm. We ordered 2 rounds both times the same 1 Bundy & coke and 1 wild turkey & coke. Both drink orders we got charged different prices and more than what price was quoted on the menu. I asked one of the bar staff, he then spoke with the manager on shift. He came back, according to the manager on shift prices are subject to change however nowhere on the menu did it say this (I checked). Plus that would be false advertisement. He then went back to get the manager. Straight away you could tell she wasn't happy, she didn't even listen to what we had to say at the table she just walk of back to the till she then she was waving us over to the till. I walked over and explained what had happened there was no apology nothing just disrespectful attitude & trying to blame to staff cos they are new. However bar staff don't manage the prices on the till that's the managers job. She was rolling her eyes at me huffing and puffing being extremely RUDE & very unprofessional. Making up excuses, at the end of the day you have to charge the price of what's on the menu.
