Located along Circular Quay, this restaurant is right by the water with views of the Harbour Bridge across the water & Opera House further in front. It is busy even at lunch time with a lot of tourists both local and international. I felt as if I were one of them being on vacation having lunch here on a weekday. There is an extensive wine list which is perfect when you have an afternoon to enjoy and not rush. The menu is seafood focused with a good range of choices. Starters of scallops & grilled scampi with lemon & herb butter were both delicious. But the grilled scallops with pork belly was so good & the favourite. For mains, it was a platter of fresh & oysters and prawns & a whole flounder that was ordered. The seafood were all fresh and simply prepared. It was good quality, sweet and delicious but nothing fancy. Service was friendly and efficient. It was an enjoyable experience & slightly indulgent for a weekday lunch!

Not the first time here, and definitely not the last time either! Sydney Cove Oyster Bar never disappoints. Great food, great service and with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge...it's the perfect place to treat yourself and indulge. Highly recommend! **special note** if you want to take in the views of the bridge whilst dining, do check the cruise ship schedule. If a passenger ship has docked, you won't be able to see the Harbour Bridge whilst dining (if that's important to you). The ship departure time is usually around 17:00 so a late lunch/early dinner is a nice time to also see the ship depart and then reveal the harbour.

We are interstate visitors and regular visitors to SCOB (about every 6 months). We’ve always had a great experience and weren’t disappointed on our latest visit as we had a brilliant lunch to remember. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and enjoyed a fresh and tasty seafood platter of a generous size. Although it was busy when we arrived (without a booking) we were quickly seated at a table then as soon as a table next to the water became available, it was offered to us without asking. To top it off, I left some good headphones on my chair when we left and they promptly posted them back to me. All round amazing people!

Would like to give this restaurant a better score because some of the food was amazing. Let me say firstly. I am aware of the staff shortage everywhere at the moment but when you are charging those prices then the service should match. Came in for lunch, ordered three entrees, a main and a side to share and some drinks. The prawn toast was amazing (4.5 stars) as were the fish tacos. My partner ate one of the small pork bao buns that came out and said it was average. I had a small bite of mine, thought it was fairly dry and opened it to have a look. A bit of pork and some pickled cabbage. No hint of chipotle mayonnaise anywhere. I told the waiter and showed him and I said he could take it to the kitchen for them to look if he wanted. He did. The waiter came back empty handed and said that the chef said there was sauce on it just not much. I wish I took a photo. There was nothing. No replacement was offered and the whole situation and bao buns were ignored. At this stage we had to ask for cutlery as we weren’t given any and had up til now ate with our hands as the waiters and waitresses weren’t catching our eyes. My partner ordered another drink and with water poured on arrival no refill was ever placed in our empty cups on this nice hot sunny afternoon. The waiter asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We still hadn’t received the main. The side of Parmesan potatoes were gorgeous the small piece of barramundi as a main was ok. On paying the bill we were asked if everything was ok. We said yes except for the bao buns. She asked whether we ate it. We told her we sent one back to the kitchen for inspection of the very dry and tasteless bun. She refunded half, all of $11. This restaurant would be fantastic if a little more care was taken with their customer service. Probably wouldn’t return considering the price. If there was a replacement bao bun entree given or a refund without having to explain further, instead of being told there was Mayo in a clearly sauce less dry bun then it probably wouldn’t have left such a bad taste in our mouths about this restaurant. Wish I had taken a photo of the bao buns for the review but I didn’t expect such a response given the proof to...

I was in Broome on holidays and taking my hosts out to dinner as a thank you. Oyster Bar was recommended as a top restaurant but I have to say it came up short. We ordered 2 Bloody Mary’s which after one mouth full my host and I could not drink it as it burnt our mouths. The waitress said sorry she would change it for us. Two of us each ordered 2 beer battered zucchini flowers which were delicious. But they came out on one plate, when we mentioned to the waitress that they should have been on two plates instead of taking them away and bringing them back she got a plate put it on the table and walked away. When I went to pay the account I saw a waitress drop a tea towel on the floor where everyone was walking she just picked it up and put it back on the bench top instead of putting it into a laundry basket. Not very hygienic. When paying the bill a lady asked if everything was ok when I mentioned the Bloody Mary’s being to hot to drink I was promptly told that’s the way they make them and they followed a recipe. Instead of just saying I’m sorry about that she stood there and argued with me. I told her to forget it because I found it most upsetting. I’m 71 years old and I’ve had many Bloody Mary’s but never like that. When we got home I check the bill and noticed that we had been charged $8.00 for tap water. As I paid cash my host had to go in on Wednesday to pick up the money. So I would not recommend your restaurant which is a shame as the food was good but some of the staff need some...

Visited Sydney Cove Oyster Bar in Broome this weekend for a special occasion. The interior was simple, nothing fancy or special, very dim lighting. The service was exceptional. We were very well looked after by a young blonde lady who even brought me a treat for my birthday at the end of our meal. Thank you. To start we had some Natural and kilpatrick oysters - natural oysters were big and fresh, really tasty, whilst the kilpatrick were really shrivelled (due to cooking/heating) nothing special. We then shared the fish tacos. Again nothing special. The fish taco was mostly taco and coleslaw or cabbage and a small portion of battered fish, which was mostly batter. The taste wasn’t bad at all, and we ate it all but not what I was expecting. For mains I had the Spanner Crab Spaghettini, and my partner had the Pan fried Barramundi. The portions were not bad, my spaghetti had crab sprinkled over the top and the flavours were light and fresh with a little bit of spice. Very enjoyable but again nothing mind blowing. The barramundi was a very decent portion but when you pay $38 only for a piece of fish you would expect this. Cooked perfectly. Added on a portion of the “Chips, chilli and rosemary salt” for $11. Now this is where I got baffled… the portion was big but they were like MacDonald’s fries, not chips. Overall the experience and service was great but I was expecting big things from the food but wasn’t amazed. Would definitely return for those natural...
