1 bedroom apartment. The Good: The views on the 21st floor were fantastic. Seems to be a good chef in the kitchen. Good central location. The Bad: If you have a low expectation or you aren't intending to spend much time in the room, you will be satisfied with the accommodation. The room could have done with a good clean. The bathroom was abysmally tiny, with the washing machine and dryer taking up a quarter of the floor space. Add the toilet, sink space and shower and there was no room to turn around. Literally. There was little water pressure in the shower and the water was not hot. The lounge room was very crowded, not helped by the ridiculous abundance of scatter cushions. We moved a dining chair and lounge chair onto the balcony and this was very helpful. The wardrobe was very small and nowhere to put a suitcase. There is no logic to this room. Oaks have tried to squeeze too much into a tiny space. The staff at the restaurant downstairs very unenthusiastic. The Ugly: The staff were indifferent. Don’t give any specific instructions, such as organising an early check-in. They cannot operate out of the norm. We were unlucky enough to have a fire drill at 7am one morning. No fire wardens, no visible staff, no one to assist mothers or families, or give any instruction. They couldn’t even organise a coffee plunger in their ‘fully equipped’ kitchen. There is an egg whisk, but no coffee plunger. It was a lot of money to pay for a very average room and average experience. I would have been happy to give this feedback directly to them, in a constructive way, but no one ever even asked about our stay. This is a money making venture. They do not care if you come again. Keep your...

Booked in for 2 nights accommodation through work, added 2 extra nights to the booking.

I do not recommend the 1 bedroom serviced apartment or hotel for several reasons: •Checking in was overly complicated, took at least 15 minutes to organise the room, no trolleys available for self transporting items to room •The room was meant to have housekeeping included, it was never done. We had do not disturb up from 12.30-2.30pm as our child naps, other than that, they had access all morning and afternoon. They didn’t even come back or contact us to do the housekeeping, I had to keep calling about it •The space between the shower door and basin was less than 30cm, it was so hard to get into the shower •The shower drain floods the bathroom floor, as the drain doesn’t cover the entire distance where the water goes - really silly design •I had to ask for fresh towels to clean up the bathroom floor, the old used ones sat wet on the floor for days as they didn’t do any housekeeping •The water from the shower and the space to get into the shower is a massive safety concern, especially when you have a toddler •The bed was just 2 single beds pushed together and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on •The TV remote didn’t work in the living area •No cot provided for our toddler •Ended up calling for housekeeping to be done on our last day, which happened around 3.00pm and we checked out at 10.00pm. They took away the towels on the floor but didn’t leave replacements

We have not enjoyed our stay and will not be returning. Feedback will be given to our employers regarding future hotel...

We had a two bedroom Harbour View apartment.

Check-in took a while - I would say a good 10 minutes from arrival to being greeted/served at reception.

They gave us all a bottle of complimentary water.

The pool was really cold and unbearable. Of course, it's dry season, so I should've expected that, but the steps leading into the pool were very slippery. I couldn't work out if it was the finish of the stairs or if it was mould build up. Despite there being a rail, I couldn't help but think how an older person may go getting in and out of the pool.

When we walked into the apartment, there was a very strong mouldy smell. I'm not sure if the apartment above has a water leak, but each time we walked out and came back in the apartment, had the same strong mouldy smell.

The beds were extremely comfortable to sleep in with nice pillows, in saying this I did notice that when lifting the quilt and flat sheet up that there was quite a lot of hair all over the mattress, indicating the sheets were not clean. One bedroom fan was working as it should, and the other bedroom fan was on its way out. It was running very slow with minimal airflow.

The shower gets luke warm and doesn't get hot . I feel like Oaks Darwin has really gone downhill to when I first stayed there not long after it was built.

The outside windows were also pretty filthy. It's not what I was expecting for the price we paid.

The lift also had a number of issues where our room cards struggled to register to be able to select our floor.

I don't think I'll be likely to stay here again,...

The best ever hotel I have found. What you need it is there. Even getting stuff from cars to the hotel room is friendly. Park in front of the hotels get the trolley, and pack. The reception staf is so nice and friendly. And what I found amazing was that they offer my son and me cold water. It felt like in our Indian culture, when someone comes, we offer a drink. The lift is a maze for us but it is fun to go from one floor to another to find the car. I have learnt my lesson take photos of the car and the lift entrance. The room was amazing. I stayed in a service apartment . Every appliances work, and I love their washing machine and dryer. They are so quiet when they do their job. A few times we thought it was not working. There was a fridge which was cooling and the food stayed cold. Bedding with tV and the floor clean from dust. The sitting room view was amazing also. We spent most of the time in sitting room and out in the verandah. Well, we are coming back again. Thanks for booking again and giving me some discount. It is better to call and book with them. Enjoy our fun time in oak

If you’re on a tight budget and just need somewhere to crash overnight, this might do — but don’t expect much. The room is very basic: bed, couch, TV, and a small shower. The aircon doesn’t go below 22°C, which in Darwin heat feels like a tease. The shower is lukewarm at best — not a big deal for some, but if you’re after a proper hot shower, you’ll be disappointed. Wi-Fi is slow, communication from staff is poor, and the rooms look nothing like the photos online — the whole place feels rundown. Housekeeping is pretty much non-existent. Rooms often don’t get made up, and when they do, it’s done carelessly. The lifts are painfully slow — regularly taking 5 to 10 minutes just to reach the lobby. There’s a fridge, but it’s empty and anything extra comes at a cost. Yes, there’s a pool and gym, but both are average at best. The staff seem overworked and under-supported, and it shows. Honestly, it feels more like an old motel than a hotel. Overpriced for what you get. If you’ve run out of options for the night, it’ll do — but if you’re expecting comfort, service or style, this isn’t the place.
