Ruby Restaurant — Restaurant in Northern Territory

The night of Darwin Christmas Pageant, 11 of us have finished volunteering in the pageant and headed to Ruby's, great moods and great expectations looking forward to a feast. The second at the table to order and last to be served, an Entree and a Salad that was ordered. 90 minutes after arriving, and all others at the table had finished their food, went up to the cashier to cancel the order, the staff checked with the kitchen and they insisted that food was done, and it's being carried out as we speak, we cannot cancel it. I said "take it back I don't want it now." Did they want me to sit on a naughty step and eat it? In the end they took it away without charge. However, No apology! No food! Just a "we're busy." Definitely NO Repeat business from us. The couple closest to us didn't get their rice with their order and drinks were made...

Was looking forward to some good Vietnamese while on holiday in Darwin. The entrees were ok but main meals were terrible. Pad Thai was like a slop and didn’t taste good at all. We also had the spicy prawns which came with a heap of tomato in it as a garnish and only 4 prawns in total for $36. We were in disbelief and said something to the waitress who went to check with the kitchen who advised her that prawns are expensive and I said like $9 a prawn is ridiculous and you need to look for a different supplier. On paying the bill no offer to reduce the bill for 4 prawns and I said we are not paying $36 for that dish. They gave us a small discount.

I was recommended this place for my partner and I's date night on Friday. I really like Vietnamese food so I was hoping the food at this place was going to be good. I was not disappointed. I had the rare beef pho and omg, it was so flavourful and the meat wasn't chewy at all. I think it was the best pho I've ever had. My partner had the beef massaman curry and he could not stop complimenting how tender the meat was. The drinks were delicious (lemon lime bitters and singapore sling). The service was amazing. The prices were reasonable for the quality. The atmospheric music wasn't too loud so we could actually hear each other. Will definitely...
