Most disgusting stay! Wouldn’t even give one star!

My fiance and I stayed for 5 nights at this hotel and all I can say is read the reviews before booking. I don’t like to ever complain but this was unacceptable and I don’t want anyone to have the same stay we did. This would have to be the most dirtiest place we have ever stayed at! Firstly we get to reception to check and we are told they have upgraded us. She then proceeds to tell us we have an upgrade but we can’t use the second room otherwise we need to pay the cleaning fee. Which is disgusting because someone can use the bed and make the bed like they hadn’t used it and they arnt even going to clean it. So gross and not even an upgrade. We enter the hotel and straight away notice how dirty the place is. The floor was so dirty it honestly looked like it hadn’t been mopped for a month. It had so much dust and little crumbs all over it. We had to go buy washing liqud to wash the sheets because I wouldn’t sleep in there as there was so much dust over our bed as it had fallen from the roof as the roof was completely covered in thick dust. The shower and bathroom was so dirty there was bits of poo before the toilet seat looked like it had never been cleaned at all. Fan, ac so incredibly dusty and dirty. In check in you are told you will get complementary toilet paper, laundry liquid and washing up liquid. We did not get any. So I called reception at around 9pm when we noticed and she told us you’ll have to wait till the morning or you can Uber toilet paper from the closest store as there is nobody there. So we had to uber toilet paper. We then went to shower and found black marks all over our towels so disgusting. I went to reception in the morning and explained how dirty the place was and they were very nice they apologised and explained they got new cleaners and gave us more towels. I feel new cleaners is a poor excuse as when you see the photos it’s definitely been a long time since it’s been cleaned. Photos...

Spur of the moment with family i booked what seemed to be the only 2 bedroom apartment one night on the gold coast 30 september at $495 Yes school holidays so prepared to pay that and on arrival treatment was star class.. unfortunatly thats where it ends Didnt actually get into room until aftet 5pm our choice but bathroom floor had dirty footprints and toilet seat was left up Lounge area you could clearly see so much rubbish behind the lounge The hairdrier blew up ceased working and set the fire alarm off and the dishwasher had not been used for sometime and had cream stuck to it and the smell was disgusting... of course no one contactable that night Next day i called and was told no worries i will let the cleaning staff know this was not the same lady as check in i said that i would not put anything on trip adviser as these things happen but because i have had no contact or an apology i am. I left it two days then called again and spoke with the original lady i thought great but no I was accused of taking a key with me (when only given one) which she did realise after again no apology I started to ask what the outcome was regarding tbe room to be told she didnt know what i was talking about. So i started to explain with constant interuptions of "you did what" "thats how you left it" i actually had to ask her to listen... and at the end was told " oh really" then total silence so i ask to be called after. And now nearly two weeks later still nothing... and 495.00 out of pocket so i will not be recommending...

The property on their website and on other hotel sites did look OK.

After speedy late check in and parking into a garage, which was impressive, everything else went bad.

As soon as we entered the property, apartment 501, it had bad smell either from carpets or furniture or both (we think it is all furniture and the carpets). The sofas were dirty, smelly and worn dow. A/C filter was dirty and clogged so much that dust was coming down the down-lights (images attached).

Over few days of staying we had to have all balcony doors open to have some air, Jess the manager was very good in organising sofa clean, which was Ok for that day as it was sprayed with flagrance chemical, but following morning smell, not as intensive, was back. We stayed for few nights only, if we had to stay any further we would have left the property.

This property does not deserve to be called luxury apartments as there was nothing luxury about them.

There might be better appartments, but 501 was BAD.

One star only due to Jess the manager as she was really helpful, our suggestion to her was to get the owner to URGENTLY replace carpets and all furniture.

Before booking ask if you can avoid room 501.

Should the bad smell not be there and furniture newer, the property would have earned 5 stars from us as it was great apartment once upon the time. Position is Surfers is perfect, just unfortunately run down with owners not willing to invest into income producing...

Misleading Listing & No Housekeeping - My Worst "Hotel" Experience Globally! ⚠️ As a seasoned travel influencer who has stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, I can confidently say this was my WORST experience. I booked through Vio.com, relying on their "hotel" description (see attached screenshot). To my surprise, there was NO cleaning service during my nearly two-week stay - unheard of for a hotel! This was especially problematic as I was recovering from an injury. Worse yet, they charged me hundreds of dollars from my deposit for the mess that accumulated due to their lack of service! Their cleaning policy, only given upon arrival, even states guests must take out their own trash - again, unheard of for a hotel! The reception staff was also impolite and unhelpful, making the experience even more unpleasant. Thankfully, Vio.com is taking action and removing this property from their platform due to this misinformation, preventing other potential victims. Google Maps still inaccurately lists it as a 4-star hotel. Potential guests, beware! Check out other reviews like Samantha Ewin's, who also mentions being charged for trash disposal. Refusing to provide advertised services and then taking deposits due to their own misleading information is highly deceptive. Don't make the same mistake I did!

I have stayed here for five days. It is my second time staying at an apartment, so I am used to daily services. It is a whole different experience, and overall I really did enjoy my stay. I was able to cook, wash, clean; public transport is just outside, tour bookings and tickets are all at the front desk~ it felt just like living at home in your own flat. If you wanted extra things however, like sheets or towels or cleaning supplies, you would need to pay extra. Cleaning stock I.e. laundry liquid, dishwasher liquid etc are limited, so you would either need to make do or you buy it at supermarkets yourself, or ask for some more at the front desk for a price. What I loved the most is the feel of living at home as you do everything yourself, as well as the three balconies with sliding doors towards beautiful views. Privacy wise, you can here people from upstairs running their chair on the tile pretty well, as well as sounds from next door. Not too bad of a sleep though, since you get to complain after 10pm should the noise be substantial. The building is a little old, could do some furnishing and maintenance. I love the layout of the flat a lot; should I get one custom made, I would follow the same design. If I was to come back to gold coast again, I may consider staying here again.
