Subject: Bad Feedback on Dining Experience
I trust this message finds you well. I recently had the opportunity to dine at your establishment and felt compelled to provide detailed feedback on my experience.
Firstly, I must commend the restaurant for its captivating ambiance. The atmosphere was undoubtedly a highlight, creating a unique and enjoyable setting for patrons. However, as much as I appreciated the aesthetic appeal and attention to detail, I regret to express my disappointment with the culinary aspect of the evening.
The menu, while diverse, failed to deliver on the promised flavors, especially in the case of the teppanyaki dishes. The absence of the authentic iron-grilled taste left a noticeable void in the overall dining experience. The flavors seemed somewhat subdued, lacking the richness and vibrancy that one anticipates from a venue of your reputation.
In particular, the signature teppanyaki dishes, which one would expect to be the highlight, fell short of expectations. The absence of that sizzling, charred essence associated with traditional teppanyaki left me wanting. It felt as though the focus was more on the spectacle rather than the authenticity of the cuisine.
While I acknowledge the value of a dining experience that combines entertainment with gastronomy, it is crucial not to sacrifice the core essence of the cuisine. The balance between performance and culinary excellence is delicate, and, unfortunately, it seemed skewed toward the former during my visit.
As someone who holds food to a high standard and appreciates the nuances of a well-prepared meal, I find it challenging to recommend your restaurant to individuals with similar discerning tastes. The culinary aspect, which should be the cornerstone of any dining establishment, appeared to take a backseat to the visual and sensory spectacle.
I share this feedback with the sincere hope that it contributes to the ongoing enhancement of your establishment. I believe that with a renewed focus on the culinary intricacies and a commitment to preserving the authentic flavors associated with teppanyaki, your restaurant could truly offer a world-class dining experience.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I appreciate your commitment...
Read moreI generally don’t feel the need to leave negative reviews, but tonight’s experience was so disappointing that I have to share it.
We went here for my wife’s birthday with our kids, expecting a fun teppanyaki “dinner and a show.” Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had.
Our reservation was for 6:30pm and we arrived on time. We were seated with another family, but nothing started until 7:15pm. If this delay is standard, it would have been helpful to be told when we booked – especially with young kids in tow.
When the chef finally came out, the real letdown began. He barely spokeEnglish and barely made the effort to engage (even if his language skills weren’t perfect- there are ways around it in Teppanyaki!!), he showed no energy, and did almost no tricks at all. The few he attempted fell flat. Teppanyaki is supposed to be entertaining – the humour, the interaction, the fun – but there was none of that. Both our family and the other family at the table kept glancing at each other, clearly disappointed. At one point the dad of the other family asked whether maybe we were supposed to pay extra for the better experience ??
I had arranged for a cake to be brought out for my wife’s birthday, but by that point we had all had enough. The kids were bored, 100% unimpressed, and we decided to leave before it was even brought out. The food itself was mediocre at best – nothing special – and considering the total came to nearly $400, it was poor value for money.
To top it off, when I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the staff while paying, all I received was a flat “I’ll tell the owners.” No apology, no attempt to acknowledge our frustration, not even basic courtesy.
Honestly, this was terrible from start to finish. Between the delays, the disengaged chef, the lack of entertainment, the average food, and the complete absence of customer care, we left extremely disappointed. Definitely not worth the price – or the occasion.
In a way, I’m sorry to write this. Maybe the chef is a really good person and maybe he needs the job – but he is in the wrong profession. He’s no teppanyaki chef.
If I could give it ZERO stars I would. It ruined what was supposed to be a...
Read moreThis is a first for me leaving a negative review, but it’s got to be done. After reading other recent 1-star reviews, I don’t feel bad at all — they were spot on.
We sat down at 5pm and waited 45 minutes just to get a round of drinks. When they finally arrived, two cocktails and two other drinks were forgotten. Service was completely disorganised from the start.
We ordered the meat and seafood teppanyaki option for the adults and chicken karaage for the kids. The kids’ meals were finally served after all the adults had finished eating — around 6pm. By that stage, the kids were so hungry they’d already eaten all their plain rice. In my opinion, kids’ meals should always come out first, not last.
The order of service overall made no sense. All the meats were cooked one after another, with no fried rice until the very end alongside the vegetables. Every other teppanyaki place we’ve been to serves in the proper order: vegetables, fried rice, then meats.
When the fried rice finally came, it was burnt and inedible, and the seafood was completely overcooked — rubbery, chewy, and flavourless. The only redeeming items were the eye fillet and chicken, but even then, they were bland on their own with no rice or vegetables served alongside.
As the show ended, three cocktails we’d been waiting over half an hour for still hadn’t shown up. Then came the final straw — the bill. We had to argue tooth and nail just to have those missing cocktails taken off the $1,000 order. After finally agreeing to adjust it down to around $910, the staff added them back onto the bill anyway when processing payment. Absolutely unbelievable.
Overall, terrible service, poor organisation, overcooked food, and no accountability. We will never be coming back, and honestly, I have no idea how this place is still...
