Read moreWe spent 4 nights here just after Christmas this year, and am wishing we had looked at other options. I chose to stay at the chalet as I didn't want the hassle of dealing with an air bnb, but honestly I should have.
PROS: Beautiful and convenient location Friendly front desk, the one time I saw them
CONS: Room wasn't serviced once while we were there, and every time I went to enquire when it would be at the front desk, it was unattended with a phone number to call. Room was poorly lit (no light in kitchenette at all?) Room had a beautiful view of the building next door. In a near to empty building, it's not a deal breaker but certainly a bit of a bummer when they could have put us in a room with a view. Once again, over 4 days the room wasn't serviced once, there was no where for us to drop our rubbish so it just had to accumulate in the room. Pretty gross. The bed was so bad I considered sleeping on the sofa. I woke up each morning in a huge amount of hip pain. I am not old. The tv couldn't read USB drives for some reason and would regularly drop out the available FTA channels. The bathroom is straight from the 90s and you get wetter standing at the mirror than you do standing under the shower head. The best part is the plentiful hot water, but its everywhere other than in your hair. PLEASE UPDATE THE SHOWER HEAD, which was attached using plumbers tape. Cook top didn't work, thankfully they had replaced with a electric frypan. Good thing I didn't want to cook anything that required a saucepan. (Paid extra for a kitchenette).
In other words - room is in serious need of an update with broken, unusable equipment for a pricey rate.
Enjoyed my holiday well enough, but won't be staying here, or recommending to others, until I hear of...
Read moreWe are family of four and we booked a king room to stay at this hotel for our first skiing trip in Mt Buller. The location of this hotel is perfect, just short walking distance from the coach / bus station. It is also right in the middle of the Mt Buller village, so it is very easy to go to ski / snowboarding school, equipment hire shops, chair lifts , shuttle bus service etc. The restaurant in this hotel , esp the Black Cockatoo is fantastic. |However, everything else in this hotel is very average , and to be honest with the price we paid, we certainly expect a bit more. The room is not very big, there is a Queen bed and a sofa that could turn into a sofa bed for the 4 of us. The beds and the pillows are extremely uncomfortable, the furnitures and the room deco are very dated. The walls between the rooms are very thin, as a result we could hear exactly what our next door were doing and saying, and we could even smell the food our next door neighbours brought into their room too …. We were being told that our room have view when we checked in, ends up our room was actually facing the carpark ( which was again very noisy), and the blinds in the room could not even be opened . We cannot find any switch to adjust the air conditioning in the room, so when it get a bit hot and stuffy , we have to open the window to let some...
