Studio Apartment across a highway, away from the main facilities, like beach, swimming pool, gym. Number 20 not number 6. Only floor 2 was Quest, the rest was private apartments.

Noisy on highway, road traffic

Put in a smelly disabled room. Piss smell in carpet. Put in another room, a lot smaller, still over the other side. No 20

Carparking on street 500 meters away from apartment or pay $20 a night at Quest across a highway.

Management didn't bother notifying us. We were told he would the next day. Nothing.

Reviews on Quest show other people months and years ago experiencing the same, management stating they will inform on their website. Nothing. The Quest is not transparent on their website about apartment across a highway. Also, they don't inform companies like bookings.com etc about this.

$298 a night for a room, no facilities. Expensive

No compensation. Wanted to cancel, but they said it was nonrefundable

Staff didn't give a crap.

I was going to book at the Scarborough beach resort, but they had a warning about their facility being upgraded. Not like the Quest.

EDIT:

In response to Quest Scarborough, comments on my review.

On Bookings.com the first page shows you everything about the property and each room/apartment. There is nowhere on this page where Quest has been transparent about staying in the East Tower across the road. You have to physically click the highlight Studio Deluxe to go to a page that is the same as the first, but they have put that comment. This is obviously not seen by us or other customers on the reviews. Also, it is not a road it is a Highway. Also, there are no photos of that building and stating you don't have easy access to the facilities like the pool etc.

Noise Concerns. We stayed during the week, not weekend and as other reviews it is very noisy on any day of the week. You cannot utilize your balcony as the highway is noisy you can't hear each other speak.

The so-called better room given to us, was for disabled. The bathroom had a shower curtain, not glass and let's not forget the smell of piss. Un-sleepable.

We contacted Bookings.com and they were trying to get Quest to refund us, but the Quest would not do this. We were on the phone for over 2 hours. They just said it was Non-Refundable. They were not budging. Bookings.com were very sympathetic to us, as this should not have happened.

Every conversation was done in a respect for all parties, accusing us of abusive behavior is unacceptable.

I work in the travel industry for over 30 years, as does my husband and we have never experienced such poor treatment, nor have we ever been accused of malicious behavior. So those comments from Michael are completely uncalled for and incorrect.

We stayed at Quest Scarborough in February 2025 and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience.

The good: nice and close to Scarborough Beach, easy check in, the staff were friendly, the room was spacious with a full kitchenette including microwave, toaster, kettle and enough cutlery - plus the pool area even included a BBQ.

The furniture in our living room was in poor condition. The sofa was so uncomfortable that we had to move the cushions from the chair, only to find an irrigation syringe hidden in the cracks. That was shocking and completely unacceptable. The chair was also stained, and overall, the room felt poorly maintained.

Our biggest issue was the WiFi—it was incredibly unstable, making it difficult to stay connected. There were multiple networks with the same name, no passwords, and no clear instructions. The only one that worked for us was "TP-Link_Extender," which no one even suggested.

To make matters worse, the washing machine was broken, adding to our frustration. Since one of us was unwell during our stay, we had to spend more time in the room than usual, which only made these issues much more frustrating.

We understand that maintenance issues can happen, but this was beyond what we expected from a Quest property. We hope management takes the serious steps to improve that they said they are going to do "in the...

The room was neat and fully equipped. However, on my first night I awoke to a man entering my room, standing less than a metre from me, through the unlocked sliding door at 03:37 am!! I presumed when I arrived from the airport at 22:30 that all doors in the room would be locked as per hotel security but no. I screamed, and the man fled. I immediately phoned the night manager who didn't answer his phone and left a voice message. By 08:50 the next morning no-one had called to check if I was alright. The day manager/owner said that as there was no evidence he can't do anything, and that I had to make sure to lock the door. In subsequent emails the implication was made that I lied because according to hotel management no-one could enter from the balcony side. This is not true as I was on the second floor and there are numerous ways to get on the balconies which are only separated by dividers on the sides as it's one long balcony in front of several rooms. I won't ever stay there again. I shudder to think what might have happened to me due to negligence on the part of hotel management. And to top it all it was my first night in a...

Great location 150 meters from the beach. Clean well kept rooms with a balcony. Good kitchen with full size fridge/freezer a microwave & dishwasher. Lovely bathroom with bath and shower and a Landry cupboard with washer, dryer and sink. Excellent staff only too happy to help. Smallish TV, DVD player & Audiovisual player didn't work. Excellent pillows, but found the bed uncomfortable with air conditioning blowing directly on the bed and too much road noise from West coast highway to leave the windows open for fresh air.
