Dôme Café - Scarborough Beachfront — Restaurant in Scarborough

Great location, spectacular views but don't for one minute think you're going to get exactly what you order. Dome Scarborough advertise a new winter offering on their menu, WARM Raspberry and Pear Tea Cake WITH Custard, which I ordered. Unfortunately, it was delivered COLD and WITHOUT Custard. I called the staff member who brought it to our table and when I enquired about it being cold and minus the Custard, he said the person who served me knew about there being no Custard and that I was not the only customer that morning who didn't get Custard. He took my plate back to be warmed up and was told there IS NO CUSTARD today. Seriously, they have chefs preparing food, how hard is it to make Custard from scratch? Failing all else, go get some from the supermarket! Don't advertise a new menu item if you can't deliver what you're offering, especially if you have an image of the product! DISAPPOINTED. Our waiter was embarrassed and apologetic. Couldn't fault his customer service. Annoyed that Jessica, who served us, didn't tell us at the time of ordering that there was no Custard, giving the opportunity to order something...

Service was very very slow and the food was terrible. We walked in today around 3:30pm and most of the tables had dishes and plates stacked up from previous patrons that hadnt been cleared. We ordered over $100 worth of food and drinks then sat down at our unwiped table to wait. 20 mins later our drinks came out but they didnt look anything like they were meant to and we were then informed by the waitress that they had run out of whipped cream. That should have been mentioned when we ordered so we could have adjusted our drinks of choice accordingly. We waited another 30 minutes for our meals to come out and the food was terrible. We ordered a lot burger, mac and cheese and the pulled pork sliders. The chips were cold, the sliders were also cold and looked like they used coleslaw from a bag without any dressing. The mac and cheese was definitely frozen and then microwaved because it was all clumpy and tasted terrible. I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the service and hygiene standards at your Dome café in Scarborough .

Over my last three visits, I have been consistently dismayed by the unkempt state of the premises. On each occasion, the tables were dirty and clearly had not been cleaned since previous customers had left. What’s more concerning is that after placing my order at the counter, the server brought my food and placed it directly on one of these dirty tables. This is a basic failure of hygiene that is completely unacceptable for a food establishment.

My most recent visit was particularly unpleasant due to the attitude of one of your servers. Their behavior was unprofessional and rude when they delivered my order, adding to an already poor experience.

Unfortunately, due to these repeated and disappointing encounters, I will not be returning to this location. I strongly urge you to address these issues with your staff and management to ensure that your standards of cleanliness and customer service are properly maintained.
