Rarely do I leave a poor review. However, this is an exception. Had a haircut here a couple of months ago as I had decided to go local after moving into the neighbourhood. It was an ordinary haircut and after asking for the senior discount I also realised that I was charged full price. Let it slide. Just walked out this morning without a haircut. Here is why: turned up before 9am without an appointment hoping to nab a timeslot. Told to return at 9.30. Did so just as one barber was finishing up. He proceeded to sweep floors, solve a client's phone issue and loiter around with no-one in the chair. Strange. Another barber was wasting time with a client trying sorting out that scam on his phone. The third barber was double booked at 9.30. Every client was on first name terms with each barber, all very chatty. I felt forgotten. 9.50 am I got up and told them to delete me from the system (I was told I would get a text to confirm the booking, it never arrived). The first barber was mumbling something about serving me when his, I assume, 9.30 turned up. I left. I have travelled the world and been to all sorts of barbers during my professional career. Never have I been to an establishment so laid back. If that is what you want, then use this mob. It is not...

Usually I dread getting my haircut, I find it a chore and a rather awkward experience. However coming here on its opening weekend was such a different experience for me. The girls made me feel welcome, introduced themselves and asked me my name. It's the first time I've experienced anything like this at a barbers and it made me feel instantly relaxed. The haircut and shave was top notch and I didn't feel it could beat. Up until last night... I was actually looking forward to this haircut which I never thought I'd say. I was looking forward to seeing the girls and what they've done with the shop. The outside looks great and the inside is even better. They remembered my name sat me down with a complimentary beer and told me to chill on the PlayStation until they was ready. Was again friendly, interested in me and gave me a top quality haircut. Great experience. I was visiting WA from the ACT and didn't manage to get a shave in before we left. Consequently, I was eating my moustache and that was pretty unpleasant. After going to one barber closer to our accommodation and being turned away as a walk in, I walked in to Scarba Barbra and, fortunately, I was welcomed. I had a buzz cut, beard trim, and razor shave around my cheeks and neck. I let the barber know that the pores around my neck don't do well shaved against the grain and they took that onboard and completed a wonderfully competent shave.
