I was not supposed to write a review on this B&B because it was all in the past, but every time I was asked about our experience at Sydney, I always remember this unfortunate event that happened to us. I booked 2 rooms for 1 night stay at this hotel. We are checking in on late evening so they gave us an instruction on the arrival process, so everything is fine. When we arrived, we did what was instructed to us, upon opening the key safe, we only saw 1 envelope (supposedly 2, for 2 rooms). Anyway, we thought that maybe they gave us a big room, but no, it was just a small room, different from what was illustrated and shown in Agoda. We don't know what to do. It's my birthday and I don't want to sleep on the cold floor and wait in the morning for the staff to arrive. We tried calling the number provided in the envelope (more than 20 times) but no response then we remembered that we saw a Shangri-la Hotel just around the corner so we go there. Once we arrived, they greeted us very warmly and we explained our unfortunate situation, and they feel very sorry for us, most especially for the baby as she is travelling with us. Luckily, there was a room almost the same price as the B&B. Once inside the room, they gave us 2 small boxes of chocolates and a baskets full of fruits and bread plus a very great view of Harbour Bridge. Once we settled in, I emailed Sydney Harbour B&B.
When I woke up in the morning, I saw an email from them. Instead of conducting an investigation, they think first that we did not understand their instructions. They even ask us where's the second key, as if we found 2 keys! I should be the one being angry but looks like they are more angry by ranting us in the email. It's a common sense that if we found two envelopes, we will not go to Shangri-la. I response back, then after maybe an hour they too responded saying that they are sorry that someone else took the other envelope. So it's like, blame first then conduct an investigation later, instead of the other way around. I have never been to Australia, and after enduring 15 hrs flight, I do not deserve to be treated like that. After a couple of weeks, they refunded back our money, but the stress that we experienced at that time will always...
Read moreI had an amazing stay at this bed and breakfast . From the very beginning when booking I had a few problems with the direct debit with the booking agency the owner quickly sorted it out for me. They were fantastic with Communications sending emails with instructions and directions before my stay . When I arrived I was seen to straight away the manager took my bags to my room gave me some brochures on Vivid which I was there to see, and told me how to get to different places ,he explained the breakfast and showed me how to get in and out of the different rooms. The room was immaculately clean the bathroom was large including a bath and shower accessories . The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in I had a fantastic night's sleep with beautiful pillows and soft clean sheets , it had a large screen TV a walk in wardrobe with everything you needed, a hair dryer iron etc a nice heater in the room for winter & air conditioning for summer as well as an outside balcony to sit. The breakfast was simple but nice a selection of bread and cereal as well as fruit and yoghurt also bacon scrambled eggs and beans. I highly recommend this place the location is unbeatable close walking distance to Darling Harbour Circular Quay the Harbour Bridge the Opera House as well as pubs and train stations very Central , beautiful quiet place considering in the middle of the city I will 100% stay again very highly...
Read moreNot good at all!
My mum and I stayed here over a year ago and it was disgraceful. Righto so when we arrived at our hotel we couldn't settle into our room because our room had a major leak so the owners were busy cleaning it so we left our luggage behind and went to the piers at Circular Quay, we came back and eventually settled into our room we had a bit of a look around and it was disappointing there was a bed in the kitchen, the bathroom light wasn't working, the room at the very back of our hotel room had a door leading outside that wouldn't lock and we had a little seating area outside and a gate leading outside the gate door also wouldn't lock so we could've gotten broken into with no trouble at all and there was also a mini fridge in the very back of the room and it was broken and leaking so when I told the owners they said it was supposed to do that. Breakfast, at breakfast the toaster wasn't working properly had to toast the bread about 5 times to become actual toast really the only thing that was good at breakfast was the orange juice but that was just drinkable. So glad we got to leave the next day onto the cruise ship, we spoke to some over the people who also stayed at the hotel the same day as us and they also had a horrible experience and they aren't even from Australia. Very poor experience...
