One of my guilty pleasures is a big hunk of roast pork and a beer. What better way to meet up with good mates than @munichbrauhaus. They have a range of special 2 for 1 deals from Monday to Wednesday and we had to go for the 2 for 1 pork knuckle special! My bro @miargus and I then proceeded to order the share platter for 2 because....we were having so much fun we got carried away. The roast pork knuckle was beautifully cooked, crispy crackling, melty meat on mash and sauerkraut with a great apple sauce and gravy. This is every bit as good as it looks. At 2 for 1 this is a spectacular deal. Great fun atmosphere with lots of staff in German costumes, accordions, bells ringing for schnapps and nail hammering comps. This is a fun family place for sure. The service staff are lovely. Very attentive and checking in to make sure we were OK. Then the share platter for 2 came. Another pork knuckle, 2 schnitzels, a selection of sausages and roast pork belly. We aren't competitive eaters like my friend James Webb, Australias no.1 competitive eater. However we managed to almost complete the lot 😄. 2 happy carnivores. @munichbrauhaus is always fun and delivers great meals and generous servings. I always enjoy myself there. Too much haha. Now I'm off to the gym

Munich Brauhaus has been the German food to visit when we are in city. Their popular pork knuckle and beer have been outstanding. Environment 4/5 It was a little bit overcrowded when we visit, and it was a Wednesday night with drone performance for vivid. Service 4/5 As we can order via QR now, we don’t really see any staff serving at the dining area. Dirty plates and glasses are al over the place, but is understood, under-manpowered. What to do? Pork knuckle 4/5 It was very crispy I remember, but this time it was a little bit hard rather than crispy. But in overall is nice. Meat is tender, mashed is perfect, salad is traditional German salad. Barramundi 5/5 If you want something lighter and not salad, this is a good option to go with. The fish is tender and the skin is just perfect. Wine and German beer 5/5 I think other than the beer glass is too large, both are nice. Not used to drinking such a large glass during dinner 😂 the beer is light and flavourful. Very different from local beer. Will I come back again? 4/5 If is not because of the understaffing, very likely I will be back. Recommended dish - pork knuckle - barramundi - german beer

Went here for my husbands birthday as he loves German food. I wish it were better. Atmosphere: There are tables outside and tables inside where there is air conditioning. The inside is dimly lit, has a very musky smell and there are stairs right near the entrance, so be careful when entering the restaurant. As a person with poor vision had my husband not been with me, I probably would have fallen face first. Food: We ordered two different types of schnitzels the paprika schnitzel (pork) and the Jaeger schnitzel (chicken). We also ordered drinks, spaetzle and a pretzel with a side of cheese. The pretzel was delicious, it was crusty on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The cheese sauce was not for me. It was cold and oniony. It was a German type of cheese sauce, that apparently is meant to be served like this according to my husband who is of German heritage. The drinks were also good. We tried a Coke and Fanta drink combination. It was surprisingly quite pleasant. I didn't think this would work, but it did. Now for the main, the paprika schnitzel was cold in some parts, hot in other parts, tough in some parts and soft in other parts. It really wasn't good. My husband ate about half of it before calling quits. The German potato salad was good, perhaps a little heavy on the mustard and as for the side of spaetzle it was delicious. The jager schnitzel was undercooked, underwhelming and the breading was soggy. I cut into the side of the schnitzel and tasted it and it was not tender, but quite tough and soggy. I then cut into the middle and low and behold the chicken was raw. I asked my husband to call over the manager and I explained to him what was wrong with my meal. First let me say - the manager very approachable and wanted to correct the error. The only aspect that frustrated me with our interaction was him telling me it was perfectly safe to eat. The main reason I called him over was to inform him that my food was undercooked. I did not want him to tell me if it was safe to eat or not. I cook chicken schnitzel all the time, I also eat it all the time. Chicken schnitzel is meant to have a beautiful white or off white centre. In no way should it have any pink or in my case a lot of pink. It also should not have a soggy crumb, nor should it be tough to cut into. Perhaps due to the lighting he wasn't able to correctly see the schnitzel. I don't know, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt due to his professionalism. He then asked if I wanted something to snack on until my husband finished his food as I did not want to wait for another main meal. I opted for a small serving of potato salad. Again, the potato salad was quite delicious. If my chicken was cooked well, and the manager had acknowledged that it was in fact undercooked, my rating would have been higher. Would I return and recommend? Honestly I probably wouldn't. The fact I enjoyed the sides more than the main meal is never a good thing. On another note - I can understand what the other commenters were talking about in regards to the silverware they are worn out and should be changed. I have attached some photos of the schnitzel for your reference.

For a place that promises so much - there is much room for improvement at the Munich Brauhaus. I was astounded with how cavernous the location is - the restaurant seems to go on forever - creating the Beer Garden atmosphere. It would be great if it worked. Perhaps this was a just a bad night where the service didn't really deliver. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed - when you had their attention they took the food and drink orders and responded well - but they weren't really proactive. We were seated and left to flummox for minutes until we attracted someone serve us. There was no confirmation of how the food would be delivered (none of the German organisation I was expecting). It was German (Bavarian) inspired food served by Italian inspired waiters. After each course we interceded with the waiters to bring us the next course. Again, they seemed overwhelmed by what was happening. The food was plentiful. It was (mostly) tasty. It was enjoyable. My group started with a pretzel. Which was delicious. After some time, our main meals arrived. A combination of full Pork Knuckle (me), Pork Belly and various platters. Overall, the food was good (not great). The Pork Knuckle exhibited some dryness which needed some extra gravy. The crackling was done to perfection. The platters were well stocked will all manner of schnitzel, pork knuckle and sausages. Perhaps some vegetable dish (that wasn't based in onion or cabbage) should be included. We then asked for dessert. This took an inordinate amount of time. However, one of the group didn't get his Apple Strudel delivered and had to wait another 20+ minutes to be delivered. Perhaps this is the trend in Sydney. Perhaps we have seen "peak service" and now restaurants are Ok with delivering less than adequate service. I've recently written about other restaurants with similar service. Maybe this is the future and I've been expecting too much. Let's hope not. Let's hope that restaurants (despite having little competition) will realise that poor service does the industry no favours and the service levels improve. That people visit restaurants not just for the food, but also to be treated and served well so their experience is pleasant and their visit to the restaurant will be memorable for all the right reasons.

Went in at 5pm, shown to a table quickly by a friendly waiter. The table was sticky and could have done with a wipe over. After ordering a German beer I chatted with the waitress and decided on the Bavarian platter for one. The food arrived quickly and looked really good. The food however was lukewarm at best. Maybe that's how they intend it to be eaten but I was expecting it to be served hot. Two of the sausages were really delicious, the others I left after trying a little bit of each as they weren't to my liking. Sauerkraut and red cabbage were tasty but the mashed potato tasted liked instant mashed potato out of a packet, very disappointing. After dinner I decided to check out the cellar bar area which was great and everyone looked like they were having a great time. The male bathroom was an abomination and nearly made me vomit. Upon entering you walk past the hand basins first, there was water everywhere. All of the soap dispensers were empty so you couldn't wash your hands properly. I then passed the urinals and the stench of urine nearly sent me packing. I made my way to a cubicle where the toilet seat was broken and hanging off the toilet, the toilet roll dispenser was also broken and hanging off the wall, there was urine all over the floor. For 5 pm at night these toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the night before and was really unacceptable. The lack of soap in the dispensers was pretty disappointing and seems to indicate the bathrooms hadn't been attended to all day. Would I visit again? No. Would I recommend it, probably not.

Not sure what happened, but food and service definitely declined since last time I went. Pork knuckle was on the dry side, and everything is so salty, probably to push customers into buying more drinks. Definitely not something I want to come back for nor recommend to friends. Ambience and the singing/activities were excellent as always, but the service itself was a miss. I was talking to a waitress about the menu, then she just turned away to another larger group so I was talking to air. When she came back I ignored her for a bit and she seemingly got annoyed. Feel the karma? She proceeded to use a lecturing tone to tell us that we should stick to QR code order and she won’t take direct orders from us, even when no ice was not an option on the app order system. Tried to order orange juice with no ice three times with different waitresses, nope it was just too hard. Had to ask for cutlery since it was too hard to refill it apparently before service. Plus if you are going to charge a service fee regardless of which ever day, then might as well allow customers to see it, not hide it in size 2 font at the bottom of the menu. Why? you can’t afford to pay your employees properly? Recommendation: warn your customers that each time they pay on the app payment processing fee is required, so they should probably make sure to order in one go. Also if you charge service fee as tip for workers, go back to traditional tipping based on actual good service being provided, not trying to get through as many customers as possible.
