This bed and breakfast was simply the best!! The building was converted from an old apartment building and remodeled into the beautiful new place it is now. They opened in August 2021 so everything was new and smelled clean. We opted for the largest suite at the very top with a balcony. WOW! It was SO worth it! We were out there a lot to enjoy the beautiful, clean air and the views.
We arrived in Salzburg a little early to the normal check-in time. But after contacting the staff they met us there and got us all checked in without an issue. The manager was SO nice and we spoke with him several times during our stay there.
After checking in we couldn't wait to see our big suite. It COMPLETELY exceeded expectations. The suite was SPOTLESS! We didn't see one spec of dirt or dust and it had been impeccably appointed. We had two large windows in the main part of the suite that fully opened. We had the windows open the entire stay as the weather was beautiful and mild. The stairs led to the tub/shower area and the door to the balcony. There was a w/c on the main floor of the suite with a toilet and sink. I can't emphasize enough how amazing everything was in the B&B in general and our suite.
Each morning we woke up and went down to the breakfast room for a lovely breakfast. The breakfast included everything one would need to get the day started. There were a couple hot casserole type options and then all the usual continental-type foods with an awesome coffee/cappuccino machine that made various expresso beverages. Again, the breakfast room was spotless and there was a lady there to assist as needed. We took our time each morning to enjoy the breakfast before heading out.
The location was on the other end of Salzburg from the main tourist areas which was great. We walked most of the time or took an Uber down to the main center when we were out sightseeing. Super each to get back and forth.
I told my Husband that I would love to return to Salzburg again soon just to stay at the Villa Flockner and enjoy more quiet time. I can't speak highly enough of this location, the staff, the suite,...
Read moreOur group of 3 booked the superior family room, which comes with 2 king beds, for its proximity to the train station as we had a morning train out. While there is an elevator you will be taking stairs regardless. When you first enter the building, reception is up the stairs and breakfast is downstairs. It's best to take the elevator to the floor above you and walk down a half flight of stairs. If you plan to use the small fridge, make sure to set it to L, which we were told by reception is the high setting. Note that a key card must be inserted to provide power to the room, so leave a key when you leave the room if you have anything in the fridge. Great rain shower! The room did get a little stuffy after we closed the windows (we were on the 2nd floor). Unfortunately, the window next to the bed that is closest to the bathroom has a shorter curtain so I got woken up very early by the sun and had trouble falling asleep again.
They provide a free mobility pass to use on all public transportation in Salzburg. Bus 1, 2, and 23 have stops right across the street and will take you to Mirabelle Palace and Gardens and across the river to old town. You can also take them 1 stop to Hauptbahnhof rather than walk to the train station. Note that the bus back to the lodging does stop around the corner from Villa Flockner. Breakfast was available from 7-10am and was fantastic! They've got several egg options (my favorite was a spinach egg), meats, cheeses, croissants, breads, orange juice,...
Read moreSalzburg was a special part of our European Trip, and Villa Flockner was everything we had hoped. Martin and all his team were welcoming and friendly, and offered us plenty of help with any local information, along with a friendly chat. This family owned and run villa is so clean and new looking. The rooms are extremely comfortable with all the modern amenities you could need. It's very close to the centre of town, only 15 mins walk to Mirabellpatz, but so quiet, making for a good nights sleep. City buses stop right outside the Villa making it even easier to access the city. They also have off road parking if you are driving while in Austria.|We were lucky enough to have their family room which had beds for us and our two children, with a sliding door so we could be separate from them after they had been put to bed. Breakfast each morning was wonderful! A selection of European cheeses, meats and fresh bread, pastries, various types of eggs, crepes, cereals, fresh fruit, juices and coffees. Nothing more was needed, but if you did need something else, it was never a problem. We would definitely stay here again and can't wait to come back to Salzburg.||The only very small negative for us was the fridge in the room wasn't great or very cold. However as soon as we raised this with the owner, he did look into it straight away for us....
