We stayed at this lovely, family-run hotel for five days and had a truly memorable time. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and personal touches made us feel right at home. The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from Salzburg’s main train station, which made arriving and getting around the city incredibly convenient. It’s also only a 15-minute stroll to the stunning Mirabell Gardens and Salzburg’s picturesque old town—perfect for leisurely walks and exploring local sights.

Our room was beautifully furnished in a traditional Austrian style, giving it a cozy, alpine charm that added to the overall experience. It was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with thoughtful amenities that catered to our family’s needs.

One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Each morning, we walked over to the charming breakfast room in the adjacent building, where we were greeted with a rich buffet spread. The variety was impressive—freshly baked bread and pastries, a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, and excellent coffee. It was a delightful way to start the day, and we looked forward to it every morning.

The location couldn’t have been more convenient. In addition to being close to the train station, the hotel is within easy reach of several key attractions including the Salzburg Convention & Congress Centre, the Exhibition & Fair Centre, and of course, the beautiful Mirabell Gardens. Whether you’re in town for sightseeing, business, or a bit of both, this hotel offers a great home base.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The combination of traditional charm, a great location, hearty breakfasts, and warm hospitality makes this hotel a fantastic choice for families visiting Salzburg. We would gladly return and highly recommend...

We were at this hotel end of April. We stayed here for 2 nights. ||We like mom and pop’s hotel over those chain hotels. So when I booked this hotel was base on the recommendation from TripAdvisor ratings. ||There are some agree and disagree that I would go through it. ||It has a free parking that is a main reason that I pick it over others. The hotel staffs are friendly and do not speak much in English. The hotel elevator has only one and in a very unique style! Our room is not face on the Main streets and it’s quiet. There is no fridge and microwave or kitchen in our room and the room is in a small and cozy setup. ||It offered a free continental breakfast but the selection is not much to write home about. ||It is walking distance to main bus station. It is walkable to Mirabellgarden and the old town but can be exhausting at the end of the day. So the bottom line is you might still need to take a bus one way or the other. ||We didn’t get the City pass from front desk because she can only do cash. So we have to wait until next day to go to main station to buy it with credit card. ||The hotel is not on the tourist side and so it is not as busy during the day. The neighborhood are not the best combination but they are harmless. The street walking around hotel area is not very good as well. So if that matters to you, you might need to think about it. ||Most of the hotels inside the city are very pricey. They may not be any better situation than this one since it is a tourist city. Overall, it is a small, safe and quiet...

I had a pleasant stay here in late November 2024. The hotel itself is very quiet - I didn't hear street noise or from other rooms. It was very convenient to walk the train station and bus station, and an easy walk into the Old Town as well.

Staff were friendly. I booked online and did need to pay a room tax in cash (3.50 euro for 2 nights) which was fine. I did not do the breakfast so can't comment on that (I'm never impressed by hotel breakfasts and prefer when traveling to get something out and about).

The bed was quite hard, and only 1 pillow per bed (luckily I was given a double and used both pillows).

Another quirk is the heavy door key which you give to reception when you come and go which is a little odd but no problem. I forgot to take a photo of my room - it did not seem to be as outdated or garish as some of the other photos. Maybe I got lucky or they've remodeled recently.

All in all for the location it worked quite well and would recommend especially if...

Short walk to Salzburg Train Station. Victorian feel to the room with a canopy bed. The room was clean and big. The toilet was not renovated but it was okay. It had shampoo , body soap , towels and hair dryer - the essential things I need. There were enough electrical sockets to charge my electronic devices. The bed was comfortable. I read reviews on how warm and friendly the owners are but I had a different experience. The female owner was not interested to answer my enquiries and said ‘It is our busy breakfast hour’. She did not give a smile but she did give me a map and told me how to walk to Mirabell Palace. When I returned at night to check in , the male owner was patient and more friendly. He explained things in detail and told me how I could drop off the key and lock the front door as I was checking out at 5am in the morning. He also lent me a kettle without extra charge. As I was checking out early, I did not get to eat the breakfast.

Just a one night stay in this quiet family-run hotel, very handy for the nearby train-station. We felt welcome despite our late arrival, and enjoyed a comfortable night in a room with character - some might have called it dated with its wood-panneling and 1970's decor and colors, but it was actually pleasant to step back in time. The room was spacious enough, very clean, with brand-new mattress (most confy) in a classy four-poster bed. Best of all, it was very quiet (side street with little traffic when we were there), and there were double-door to our room (a bit like an air-lock), which helped sound-proof any noise from the corridor. Breakfast vas very nice, with coffee served to your table (which is always an ice touch in these days of self-service everything).
