This hotel is literally at the heart of central Vienna. Almost every prominent landmark was at walking distance. The room was neat and tidy. The toilet was clean and spacious. The only thing missing was the complimentary/welcome tray. We wanted to have tea but since there was nothing such in the room so we called the restaurant for the tea. But our call was directed to reception. The reception lady told us that the restaurant/cafe is closed. The only thing we can offer is hot water and paper cups. We were slightly put off by this considering the price we paid. But anyway we got tea, milk from the supermarket (SPAR which is at 5 minutes walk from the hotel). So if you are tea addicts like us then please do bring your tea and milk along with you. Other than that we had no problem at all. Also the check in time is 2 PM. We reached Vienna early. But we dropped our suitcases at their luggage storage. So that was a relief. Customer service is kind and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to my...
Read moreI had stayed at the Hotel Post Wien for 6 nights for standard single bed room type. At first I thought it might be small for me. But it was actually better than I thought because the room was wide enough for me like I could exercise in the room:). I love staying at this hotel because first, the best location, it is near the subway Schwedenplatz within a minute walk and surrounded by famous restaurants and famous places like St Stephan cathedral. It also locates near the SPAR supermarket. So it is super convenient. Second, the breakfast was vary and it was delicious. There were scramble egg, boil egg, bacon, salami, cheeses, many kinds of bread, good ground coffee, good fruit juice, fruits, a few flavor of yogurt, milk and musli. I enjoyed eating breakfast there everyday. Finally, I was impressed by the hospitality of the hotel clerks and cleaners. They always welcomed and tried to do their best services. Overall, I will recommend this hotel to my friends if they wanted to visit the city of Vienna. Thank you for...
Read moreWe arrived in Vienna at the main train station. From the train station we took the U-Bahn and got off at Swedenplatz. From there it was a short and easy walk to the hotel. We found the reception on arrival quite unfriendly and unhelpful. Our room was quite large. There were some issues though – one light by the bed was burnt (subsequently replaced), the hand towel warner didn’t work (apparently on a very short timer) and there were no coffee implements (not available in this hotel). There was some street noise during the night. This is an older property but its location is very good. It was a few minutes walk to Stephanplatz and it is near many restaurants and coffee shops. The breakfast was good and varied. WiFi was good. With more attention to detail and a friendlier staff this hotel could easily be a 4* but from our point of view...
