I tend to agree with Hugoscott’s review. |When the reception is approached with an inquiry the two gentlemen on the desk become loud, aggressive and obnoxious. ||It’s proximity to the coast line is great. |The Metro is so close to the hotel how could you not go for a trip to the City. ||The fascinating mixture of old and new architecture is something to be experienced, not just the beach culture.||Fascinating history, beautiful places to drop in and have a bite to eat or a meal. ||As we were strolling through the city there was a football match on TV. red and black jumpers of Flamingo v’s Dubai. We started our city travel when the score was 1 to 1. |Then Flamingo scores 2 to 1 and the Main Street came alive with almost everyone jumping up and down with arms in the air. It was like we were at a football arena. |Goodness, we were pulled in on the celebrations at each bar with a TV. |Then we (The Flamingos) made another goal making it 3 to 1. |Well!!!!! People went absolutely berserk like the player who shot the goal, people running through the streets and we got caught up in the celebrations. |What an amazing experience, that was worth our travel from Australia to South America just to be there and feel the really Brazil culture. When one thinks of Brazil the next word is football. ||After knowing to ignore the reception you will enjoy it’s location. ||You will have more success with the lovely locals and people walking their dogs are really helpful with directions. ||A power adapter to suit the hotel can be bought down the street. |They don’t give you a booklet with all the information you need to know when staying. |Fortunately the housekeeping and doormen are all really professional. Breakfast service was very well executed, get a coffee down the road. ||Our next trip we will most definitely book a hotel in the Down Town Centro (cost effective) and commute by Metro to the...
Read moreI stayed for a week. Would I chose this hotel again? No. For the price and what you get, it was overpriced to my taste. I generally liked the hotel, but parts of it seemed old and dated. The cleaning was really good. My bed was very noisy and creaky. And so was all the other beds, I could hear all my neighbors having a go at it on creaky beds 😂. There is no noise isolation at all between rooms, a huge gap under the door to the hallway, which means you can hear every slamming door to the stairwell and the walkie-talkies they use, it's quite a loud hotel. I liked the rooftop area a lot, and the location is sublime. The breakfast is also really good 👍🏼. I would recommend that the hotel has some professional service people look at the AC in the room, because I got a really bad cough every time it was running. My cough disappeared immediately when moving into a new hotel, so I could imagine the AC could need some internal cleaning, just to be safe, as mold is a health issue if there is even the slightest amount....
Read moreThis hotel is in a very busy area. There is crime in the area so make sure you are with a group when you are out and keep valuables close at all times. The hotel is somewhat outdated but it was clean. The front desk staff are not friendly at all. They need lessons in customer service . A smile goes a long way . A person expects a certain level of assistance from front desk staff when staying at a reputable hotel. Our tour operator was late coming to pick us up one day so I asked the front desk staff how to contact them using a Brazil number and the gentleman at the desk said he could not assist us , and we should have booked through the front desk staff. No thanks! Not with that attitude. The hotel has no restaurant or bar other than the dining room they use for breakfast. The breakfast was average. Eggs, meats, fruits and rolls and cake. We had a room with a view of the ocean. It was really a beautiful view. I would not stay at this hotel again if given options...
