I’ve walked past this place several times really wanting to sit and enjoy the view and a cocktail. I had a chance to stop here on a picture perfect day today with blue skies and cool temperatures during a Brazil winter (June). I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich advertised as having a Brazilian cheese with oregano. I assumed it was similar to the queijo quench offered on the beach. The outdoor area was very tidy and well supported by staff. I was never more than steps away from someone anxious to check on me and ensure that my meal and drink was ok. There was a gentleman playing a sax which was pleasant, but not really the reason why I was here. The trouble was that he positioned himself directly in front of all the tables, marking the horizon in an inescapable way. He would have been good in the evening when the sun was already down or maybe to one side to ensure a great view. He was great as a busker but not really the vibe I had desired when I arrived. The last bit of my input regards the sandwich. It was composed of two really thick slices of bread with what seemed like maybe two slices of cheese in between. The sandwich was over 2 inches or 5 cm in thickness and really hard to even get my mouth around. It was 39 Reis which for a hotel and the beach, was not too expensive as an offering, but it was basically two slices of bread. They could easily go with something thinner and people would be happy, accepting the premium of the location. I would visit here again, but would focus on the 42 reis...

I honestly went there thinking it would be really lovely! Sadly it wasn’t so. And let me start off by saying I never leave reviews, but I can't forget about this experience. It was one of the worst services I've had. Here’s why: We sat outside and waited at least 20 minutes before asking for the menu ourselves. We moved tables and told the waiters, but the previous guest's stuff stayed there for another 20/30 minutes. We had to ask for them to remove it, and when they did, the table was left dirty with crumbs and leftovers from the guest before. We asked another waiter if they could clean it, and it stayed like that for a while still. This was the first 45 mins/hour of our visit, and we still hadn’t received our drinks. The waiters were completely unresponsive - we had to ask to order, ask for the menus, ask where the drinks were. 2 starts bc the food and drinks were really good! though the ceviche was missing the sweet potato listed on the menu. After eating, we waited another 30 minutes for someone to take our plates. No one checked in on us at all, the table was dirty for most of the time we were there and drinks were super late. Honestly, we could’ve walked into the kitchen, prepared the drinks ourselves, and I don’t think anyone would’ve noticed. Very seldom do I write scathing reviews; however, I have recently decided to issue justifiable fair reviews based on the food of establishments and the service.

If you want to wait 30 minutes for a table and then be greeted by abysmal service, this is your place.

I sat down and ordered a bottle of white wine, only to receive the wine 25 minutes later; not only was it the wrong wine, but it was also rose, not white, with a glass that looked like it had been borrowed from the table next door that had just left. My waiter, in pure embarrassment, replaced my glass instantly without me even saying anything.

The food arrived 2 minutes than the wine. Nice, however. The bread that accompanies the seafood starter needs to be accompanied with butter.

The tuna tartar is plentiful yet lacks the appropriate seasoning.

I ordered another main as I was still hungry and waited 40 minutes, but still no main.

The one star is because I would never return! I would never recommend it. The food brings that up to two stars
