Nearly a year since our visit for 5 nights. I would have preferred a maximum of 4 nights but the available flights meant either 2 or 5 and 2 is too few for me when visiting somewhere new. The place is easy to find, we used the underground train from the station and providing you leave the station by the right exit its only a few minutes away. Took us a bit longer because we went out the exit further away. |We had seen the pictures of the outside of the building so no surprises, the outside could put you off but we found it gave a bit of something to it. The lovely ladies booked us in, but they did want payment in euros rather than the local currency so be prepared to take euros as well. Our room was at the other side of the building so meant leaving the communal kitchen area going outside and back in again through the entrance on the other side. Not a problem it just meant carrying the suit case up and down stairs a couple of times. We had a suitcase mainly due to the length of our stay. |The room we had was a double with private bathroom [wet room] and was clean and I thought quite large especially for the price. The only downside was lack of hanging facilities [no wardrobe] but then again most people only there a few days, but again it wasn't a problem. The wet room did mean that the toilet seat got wet so just make sure you use the toilet first and if you need to use it after taking a flannel helps to wipe down, as long as you don't use it to get washed with. |It could be a bit noisy with others coming and going but generally quiet and got a good night's sleep. |There are plenty of of places to eat close by and we walked every where, apart from getting a taxi to and from the countryside for a trip up the chairlift. Well worth a visit and looking down at Sofia on a nice sunny Sunday, it was very busy with long queues but worth the wait. |Another great thing to do is to take the free walking trip, our guide was really good and entertaining and is a great way to get to know Sofia. They can give you details of other trips that you pay for and the free one you give a donation at the end, if you want, so we gave what was the cost for one of the paid tours. |We found that the accommodation was very good in every aspect and when we checked out they called a taxi for us, as we wanted to see the route rather than be under ground. |If you want luxury this is not the place to stay but if you want clean, cheerful and a good location at a very cheap price then you can't go wrong. It certainly opened my mind to looking at hostels, as long as you have your own loo. I would...
Read moreI stayed here for 5 nights on February 2021. By the time of my arrival madam Desi who working there meet me outside in order to make it easier for me. She was so friendly and helpful person during my stay, she answered all my questions and helped me with many things (starts from the best spots with a high rate to exchange money and explaining me the right directions and places "must visit" in the city and many other things)! ||The location itself just unbeatable, cause there is a metro station "Serdica" near by, other public transport available and actually so many city sights are just in 5-10 minutes by walk!!!||Even though it was a cold weather outside, the apartments inside was warm enough, clean and tidy. I had the room with attached bathroom so the hot water was available all day long, Wi-Fi provided free by the host. Also there was a T/V in my room. I think even if you will stay for a long period the management might consider a best prices for you, cause staff and their management are so kind and helpful people and definitely they are professionals.||Thanks a lot "Hello Sofia guesthouse" for your hospitality, assistance and welcoming me on a high level. Definitely I will stay here again once I'm here in Sofia. Best of luck and wish your business to grow and expand all over the world not only within Bulgaria ;-)||||Leonid Bagriy...
