Stumbled across the hotel after coming to Kampot without a booking, not my usual but I wasn't sure whether to stay in city or on riverside. It looked nice, down a quiet lane.||Absolutely beautiful! I stayed for two nights downstairs in room with jungle in my shower. Everything about Hotel 5.S was to my standards. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet, very easy to walk into town, near restaurants, market, and to night market, pleasant front desk staff. It was nicely appointed as well with a lovely dining area.||I did want to move to riverside after that but it flooded in town unseasonably so I left, but otherwise no complaints. My only not negative but neutral comment is the breakfast was just okay, although ample. But that's not a deal breaker and I walked through pretty much the entirety of Kampot town and thought this was the best pick there and a great choice.||That living banana tree in my bathroom was such a beautiful touch, as was a scented candle in my room that smelled fabulous. Plus the gifted me a free pepper pouch when I left.||So yes, do stay here! 1st floor. You will...
Read moreWe have selected Hotel Five. S after reading lot of reviews from previous guests and the hotel staff proved that all the good reviews of previous guests by their great hospitality.
We were really impressed from the welcome to the leaving, hotel is located in heart of Kampot city just five minutes walk from Durian roundabout, can easily get the access to surrounding places including tourist attractions.
They strictly maintain the hygiene of the premises with good housekeeping, also they serve nice breakfast with handful options, very friendly and pleasant staff, Sokha and Kosal were very helpful and they arranged us scooters for very reasonable price for getting around.
They also have bicycles for free, you can use them to roam around the city and riverside.
Due to on going construction, day time is bit noisy but night was super calm and quiet. We had a jungle bathroom for our room and it was nice and kind a different experience. They do have swimming pool but recommend not to swim there as it’s not lengthy enough.
Overall it’s worthy choice in Kampot and...
Read moreI cannot comprehend how this guesthouse gets anything other than poor to average. We have been in Cambodia for 2 wks and this was are most disappointing hotel. First the positive the staff are good and doing their best. The beds were comfy and the place is clean. The room was described as 45sq metres this was a big exaggeration it was more like 35. The hotel has a rundown feel to it with no atmosphere or personality.. The bathroom area was shabby and flooded after every shower. The breakfast was awful! A small cup of coffee and tepid juice overripe fruit thrown onto a plate and an omelette with raw carrot and green pepper a strange and unpleasant combination and an occasion we did not look forward to, on our last day we had our breakfast out and it was like a parallel universe. The pool area and breakfast areas are not places that look or feel inviting there’s no ventilation as it’s enclosed and stifling. There are plenty of places their hotel management should visit and get these details right or lower their prices accordingly. I really don’t like...
