On a budget this is a good option. It was pretty clean, WIFI was good, water was provided and there was a TV, kettle and working AC but no fridge. The shower was hot with decent strength although the bathroom is small so shower water ends up going all over the toilet. There was also no toilet roll holder so we had to just take what we needed from the bedroom each time.
Could’ve done with having bedside tables/units or even just little shelves. There were plugs either side of the bed but nowhere to put things. We were only provided one towel for two people so we had to ask for another one. If they had these little extras we would’ve stayed at least another night. The owners were quiet perhaps due to the language barrier, but nice. There was about an hour in the early evening where someone was singing very loud karaoke next door but thankfully this stopped before it got late. Overall we had a comfortable stay, the location is decent, a few minutes walk from the Durian roundabout, and it was good for the price ($15). Would...
Read moreThe rooms are satisfactory. Each room features an en-suite bathroom with hot water (instant heater) and air conditioning. The mattresses are quite firm, typical of many hotels in Asia. Drinking water is provided in the rooms and the location is relatively quiet compared to other hotels in Kampot. The only downside is the need for good ventilation in the rooms, but this is a minor issue. The location is convenient, roughly a 5-10 minute walk to the bars. Using a Tuk-Tuk in the evening is recommended. The night market is also about 5 minutes away. The price is reasonable; we paid $16 per night, and there's a possibility to negotiate, though I found it too cumbersome. Scooters are available for rent directly at the hotel, and the owner only requires a photo of your passport, unlike other rental services that often retain the passport itself. When paying in dollars, ensure the bills are in nearly new condition. The owner mentioned that the local bank only accepts new-looking bills, but he was accommodating when we had no...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights and couldn’t recommend it more. The family that own the guesthouse were all very kind, helpful and lovely. Nhep, the owner, helped us with multiple things during our trip and we communicated with them easily in person and/or via WhatsApp with quick responses.
We were always met with a smile in the mornings or when returning to the guesthouse. I’m shocked to read any bad reviews as we had a wonderful experience.
The rooms were clean and the beds were the most comfortable we’ve stayed in during 1 month of travelling SE Asia. The location is great, with most things easily in walkable distance. If you do want to explore further, you can rent a scooter from Nhep for $6 per day. Excellent value for money and would absolutely stay again if we...
