Honest and straightforward review. I can give 5 stars to this hotel for its location at best but 0 for the all the other features.
Let me list them down.
It was $42/night for a double bed room.
Huuuge cockroaches (seens two in the morning) one from veranda and the other from the room door, a big ant, small red ants around the bed.
No clean up service even when we didnt put "do not disturb". Accordingly no new towels were given, no new beddings, no waters.
No insect prevention nets on the window in bathroom. Cannot even closed. Its just some holes on the wall.
Bathroom is quite dirty and small. Well, it depends on which room you would get but if you are getting the rooms right beside the elevator, the bathroom is so old and narrow and nasty.
Water temperature adjustment was tricky.
Pooor soundproof. Could hear every single sound outside of the door and stomping sound of ppl staying upstairs.
Chinese guests while my stay were not so good neighborhood. Not all Chinese are not well mannered, but at least, those ppl who were being noisy around and brought forbidden foods (smelly) into the hotel were all Chinese.
Dogs are barking continuously during midnight.
AC makes me and my friend sick. Whenever we get back to this hotel, we both have itchy nose, runny nose and constant sneezing. I guess the AC is quite dirty as all the symptoms stopped while we were away from the...
Read moreIf you need quiet to fall asleep or sleep well or easily wake up by noise while sleeping, please reconsider before choosing this hotel because the room (4th floor, as my experience) lacks soundproofing, which means that when there are customers talking outside the room, you will definitely hear their conversation. In addition, the floors above (5th floor) have a vibration-like sound that sounds like a drum when someone does something. In particular, the sound of a car horn driving on the road can also be heard through the window at night. Another point to improve is that the bathroom cleaning is not very good. However, if you are not sensitive to that noise, sleep deeply and don't wake up because of noise, or don't need a very clean bathroom, you should choose this hotel for your accommodation. These are the following reasons you should choose here: 1. Good location (near Durian roundabout, in the center of Kampot city, night market); 2. The staff is very hospitable; 3. They are responsible (if you book a room but there is a problem with the room, the hotel will replace it with a room that is more expensive than the one you booked, but the price of the room is the same as when you booked); 4. The room is clean and spacious; 5. The cleanliness (for the bedroom) is good; 6. There is no bad smell (elevator, entrance to the room, or...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for several days in November. I was impressed with the room which was really big and had two queen beds in it. The bathroom was large too. Everything was pretty new. I was told the hotel first opened in 2020 but shut down thereafter due to Covid. It reopened around the middle of 2022. |It has a fairly big lobby where a breakfast buffet is served in the morning.. it also has a coffee bar off in one corner which is where you want to get your coffee. They charge for it but we’re talking $1.50 for most espresso drinks. Coffee offered in the buffet is the Nescafé type. Skip that stuff.|Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They are very willing to help you with transportation, tours, etc.|The location of the hotel is ideal and is situated very close to the durian roundabout. You can pretty much walk anywhere you need to go in town. At night, it’s lit up and is easily spotted as the building has six stories. There aren’t many that tall in kampot. |Internet is quite good which surprised me. |Only negative about the place is the room safe. It’s not bolted down and could easily be carried off. |But overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay there again...
