This is a great and affordable 3 star hotel. Ideally located if you wish to be centrally located and within a short distance of heaps of cafes, restaurants, markets and the famous pub street. Rooms clean, customef service was typically cambodian with lovely warm, helpful and smiling staff. Just a suggestion i would like to make, free breakfast was on offer as part of room rate, howevef on my first morning i went to have breakfast, was disappointed and never tried it again. There seemed to be a staff member on hand and yet eggs on offer were old and dried up. I would suggest that the owners look at serving a couple of fresh options to guests when they come for breakfast. As a non asian tourist who does not eat noodles for breakfast the only other option was toast and jam and one type of fruit. Breakfast needs improvement. I was also situated on, in my opinion the worst side of the hotel with an awful off-putting view of the dishcleaning and storage area. Something to block the view of this messy area is suggested. Perhaps a small roof or pergola. I found the air onditioning excellent in my room anc such a joy as i visited during...
Read moreI had booked this hotel months prior to arriving online, in retrospect i wish i had paid a bit more as there are heaps of hotels in the area which were better value, first time to Siem Reap lesson learnt.||This hotel is basic, clean pool, within walking distance to pub street, comfortable bed. Breakfast is awful had it one morning then didnt bother anymore.Second evening we were there around 10pm a group of men 60ish age group were in pool drunk and lets say swimwear was non existent, with a woman obviously from a bar, the same, loud obnockious behaviour, was not impressed as my balcony overlooked the pool. Staff were in the area and did nothing to curtail this, i am no prude but there were kids staying there as well. I reported the following day because i heard the loud mouth guest back again they assured me he had checked out, otherwise i was checking out.||Felt disappointed as i had pondered for months picking accomodation trying to get best deal for my money, obviously i picked wrong.||Would i stay here again on my return to Siem Reap nope, have found better accomodation near by for a bit...
Read moreIt is some time since I wrote a review, however felt compelled to let others know about Golden Orchid Angkor in Siem Reap. Centrally located and so close to the hub of food and nightlife including the famous Pub Street (700m) and Angkor Night Market (400m). New owners in 2020 have enhanced this boutique hotel with carefully considered renovations. Golden Orchid Angkor has everything you could want, from picking you up at the airport and features including a swimming pool, spa, business centre, free high speed internet (WiFi) in public areas, complimentary parking, free breakfast, cleanliness, with the most helpful and friendly staff (which includes a 24 hour front desk) who find no request too much, be it arrange tours, hire of motorbikes or transport in general. Recent addition being a takeaway coffee booth out front and is likely to have an ATM soon. I cannot recommend Golden Orchid Angkor highly enough, I feel certain it will add to your Cambodian experience and leave you wanting to come back again and again. I am excitedly planning my next visit. Well done to...
