Stayed two nights in early June. Got a room with a queen bed and on-site washroom. The room is small but cozy, and along with the bed/nightstands, same with a desk+chair, mini-fridge, coffee maker and TV with cable. Washroom was a decent size and the shower (no tub) came with a built-in seat, which would be great for folks who might have trouble with standing/slipping. Free bottled water and coffee was also available in the lobby. WiFi is pretty solid. Person at the front desk was friendly and helpful (I had forgotten to bring an SD card and he pointed me to a few places I could get one late on a Sunday afternoon). There was a small leak in our room's ceiling on Day 2 and he offered to move us, but we decided not to since we'd be leaving the next day.

The location is great and right in the heart of downtown Dawson, with all the big attractions (ex. Gertie's, Parks Canada visitor centre, bars, restaurants, the river) just steps away. Parking is also available right behind the building.

Only issue would be that soundproofing isn't very well done, which would otherwise be fine except that our stay appeared to overlap with a construction crew's. Our room was on the first floor and they were on the second - you could clearly hear them walking around, talking, singing, etc. early in the morning before they left and late at night when...

Relatively inexpensive rooms ($95/night + taxes) for a night in Dawson City.

I had issues booking online, so emailed The Bunkhouse and got a response that morning and they booked me through their system. Apparently there's a large baseball tournament the last weekend in August and everywhere was booked.

Ueli was very helpful and remembered my name when I walked in to check in. Very professional customer service.

The rooms are basic but clean with very comfortable comforters and a nice space heater as this fall weather drops temperatures low at night.

I'm a deep sleeper, so noise doesn't really bother me at night, but I could see how the noise from people walking outside could be bothersome to some people.

Although the bathrooms are detached, the showers and toilets are very clean.

It is a great location that is walking distance to most/all touristy things in Dawson City.

I would recommend them to others coming visit.

Side note unrelated to The Bunkhouse, give yourself ample time when using the ferry to get across the Yukon. I waited for 50 minutes when getting into town. It seems to fit only 4-6 vehicles at a time. And, check out the Saturday farmer's market at 11am-5pm, right across from...

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing! I was really looking forward to staying at this location, but unfortunately due to changes in my itinerary I was unable to stay. I called a week prior to my stay and spoke with Manager, he was helpful and said that he would cancel my reservation fee free. I was delighted by the service I had received. UNTIL... I get a charge on my credit card for my stay. I called the hotel and they directed me to call Expedia, when I called Expedia they informed me that the hotel was denying the fact that I called... they said because there is no confirmation number that they could not assist me. I WAS APPALLED at the HORRIBLE customer service... to accuse a customer... I was insulted and do not recommend ANYONE to book at this location... I even had screen shots of the call history... yet the hotel still continued to deny the fact that I called. I even spoke to the same manager I spoke with! DO NOT STAY HERE, they are not accommodating in anyway. Extremely DISAPPOINTING...

The Bunkhouse is very much a no-frills kind of place, with shared bathrooms down the outside boardwalk. The rooms are very basic - a small room with bed, table, stool and...well, that's about it. No TV even (which I enjoyed). This far north, A/C isn't very common, but there was a fan on a shelf I could use if needed (it wasn't). You have to leave your room and walk down the wooden boardwalk to the bathrooms. There is a hall with sinks along one side and entries to the shower stalls between them.Toilets are to the left. This IS the least expensive place I stayed and it really is for people who like to travel without frills and without having to take out a loan for a night's lodging. :-) Once things quiet down (which they do pretty early here) it's so peaceful and quiet. No traffic, no airport, no parties going on around you...bliss. I'm including some photos since this setup may not be for everyone, but if you are just looking for a bed and pillow and a shower in the morning, this is a good option!

The location is great the rooms are cute. Hot and clean showers. It is a little noisy, but I didn't mind it. A few spiders, didn't care. The sheets were not changed! That's not okay. I was a housekeeper in Texas for a few years and it was obvious they didn't change the sheets. There was other people's hair in the sheets. They fluff it up too look clean but here's a helpful tip for everyone: there's not supposed to be lint in the sheets if they've been changed. I'm solely giving a one star for the fact the don't clean their sheets here. It's an old building, they can't control creaky floors or the occasional spider but they could wash sheets. Dirty sheets carry all sorts of things from sweat to snot and lice to bedbugs. Pull the sheets back and do a check before sleeping in these sheets for your own good. For some reason they don't have hours on the website or on Google so I attached a picture of them.

This was the best value hotel I stayed at on my trip. I was impressed enough the first time that I stayed there again on my return trip from Tuk. You have to accept the concept, that you just get a room and share bathrooms, microwave, etc. However, they have the best mattress I slept on in Canada, they're clean, and their Wi-Fi stays up and works. They have a concept and they execute on it very well, the quality of the room and services is better than par. The only issue with the room is that the window was stuck on my first room and was sticky on the second room. You have to finagle with them. On the other hand, their power cube was great. You don't have to look for an outlet that's usually so old it won't hold your plug.
