First time staying here... and hopefully my last time staying here. The place is run down and shabby. The rooms are marginal. Functional but cramped. No desk, no place to eat and no place to really sit other than the bed. I don't count the absurdly uncomfortable chair that's older than I am. Cracked paint everywhere, faded wall paper and old worn carpets. My shower rod is barely hanging on the wall. The bathroom has zero counter space and the medicine cabinet is showing its age. What's worse is the service. You get a key, but no key ring, just a loose key (and dont lose it). They finally found a ring on day 3. No bed turn down or any kind of in room cleaning at all in my 3 night stay, and I needed to go ask the front desk for fresh towels because those weren't provided until day 3. I've stayed in far worse dumps than this with far better customer service. Most places I'm putting the do not disturb sign on the door... here I'd welcome such a disturbance but it never came other than once to get the towels. No vacuuming at all (despite the mud by the door - always happens here in the spring) and the garbages were never emptied once despite being full. I could live with all of that if the beds at least were comfortable. But they're not. I've woken up every morning stiff and sore from the terrible bed. Stiff beds are one thing... these are just old and bad beds. Can't wait to leave tomorrow. And if that wasn't bad enough... their owners are trash. We didn't even book reservations at this hotel. They own several and will bounce you around as they see fit. We only found out at midnight when we went to check in (with a reservation made weeks before) that we had to go to a different hotel as they had moved our reservations from the one we liked to this dump. I will say what staff I've interacted with have been very nice. Not much they can do when their management is dictating things and doing everything possible to cut costs and maximize profits.

Stayed here for 2 nights (Feb 19 and 20) while visiting Dawson City for the first time. So glad we chose this hotel! It's so full of character and well preserved that it's like a destination in and of itself. I was pleasantly surprised by my room, in the main building - it was cozy, nice, and bright. I appreciate that it had plenty of seating and storage areas fit into the limited space, as well as the warm tones, perfect for a winter stay. Even though it was not exactly modern in style, it was very well maintained and furnished, and fit well into the overall character of the building and the city (in a way, a room with a modern design would feel quite out of place). The room also had a nice washroom with a bathtub. I liked the wooden floors. I also loved the room keys - they are actual keys - too bad to hear that they are being replaced with room cards soon. The front desk staff allowed us to check-in early due to our flight from Whitehorse. However, the hotel's amenities could be improved...e.g., they didn't have any toothbrushes or toothpaste. The soundproofing was poor. And the Internet was spotty, although I was okay with that since we weren't in Dawson City to be glued to our electronic screens. Would recommend checking out the atrium/lounge in the annex across the street from the main building, accessible using our room keys. It's quite cool and a nice dedication to a former hotel employee. However, I would not recommend choosing a room there, as they appear to be smaller and more susceptible to noises from the lounge. Note that many of the city's restaurants, including the hotel's restaurant & bar, are closed during the winter, so I sadly didn't get to try the sourtoe cocktail...One reason to visit Dawson City again in the future!

I completely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was everything I needed it to be. It was clean & the beds were comfortable. I liked the location. And it was decently quiet. The shower had great water pressure. The staff were very friendly & helpful. I locked my key in my room by mistake & they were super quick, giving me another key to get back in. I love the little candy sour toe they leave it the room. It made me giggle! Nice touch. We stayed 5 nights at this location & I only have 1 complaint (which is a small one), when we were running low on toilet tissue, we had to go to the desk & ask for more. I don't know why the didn't replace it or leave some during housekeeping. Anyway, it didn't matter. The location is great. It's very central. We were able to leave our car parked here & walk pretty much everywhere which we really enjoyed. It's a GREAT place. The parking can get a little tight as it is just street parking but you only need to worry about that once since you can just walk after you get there! Love the attached saloon! I felt completely safe & comfortable coming & going from the hotel at all hours.

Ok.... this hotel wasnt TERRIBLE but it wasnt good by any means. We had really crappy luck. We arrived at 2am only to find out there had been a planned power outage from 11pm to 5am leaving us with NO lights (they didnt keave flashlights either), and no hot water for a shower which is exactly what we needed/wanted after spending 15 hours in a car (one day of travel).|||| Even if the hotel was beautiful, it was about 1000 Effing degrees! Our ceiling fan didnt work either and no AC at all (we were in the building across the street though so idk about the main building). Toilet was extremely close to the wall too which also had the towel rack on it so washroom use was not at all comfortable as you always had towels rubbing against you (im also a 5'5" 150 pound woman.... not large by any means so i can only imagine how uncomfortable it would be for a bigger person). |||| I definitely wouldn't be staying here again, especially for the price. It was about $270 ish dollars a night i believe. We are still here but so far we've gotten no discount (which we will be trying to get). The town is GORGEOUS and i 100% recommend coming here, but maybe skip this hotel. |||| The restaurant (The Sourdough Saloon) was pretty good! The food was good and my spouce did the Sour Toe shot. Super cute and tasty and quick for the food, but the service was scarce (we were ready to leave for a long time and i ended up having to ask for the bill at the bar) and confusing. We werent greeted right away and there were no signs to seat yourself so we kinda felt stupid for the first minute of walking in, but seated ourselves and they...
