The Drunken Goat Taverna — Restaurant in Dawson City

We had a chicken and ribs platter and calamari. Small portions for the price (the chicken and ribs was almost $40). We ordered local canned beer from Winterlong since the rotating tap, only one, was Alexander Keith's (!). With so many great breweries in Yukon, we were a bit surprised. We ordered Caesar salad with the meal but got Greek. The server apologized and brought us a Caesar at no extra charge. The Greek salad had no cucumbers, and the Caesar had no anchovies or bacon bits. We sat with empty plates in front of us for several minutes, although it wasn't busy at the time. Another server came and cleared a table beside us and ignored us. Finally our server came and apologized for leaving us for so long. We asked for the bill and she went back into the bar area. We waited again and finally went up to the bar where she was slicing lemons, and apologized again for forgetting to...

There's a lot of great food in Dawson City. And I am not surprised even if it sounds like it. I travel up there for work once in a while and when I go I try to go to different places to eat so I can experience them all. The Drunken Goat does not disappoint. The food is incredible. I would say Greek... fusion? It is Greek food but unlike most Greek food I have had before. The chef has got to be Greek. Just delicious food from the appetizers to the desserts. The drinks and cocktails are great as well. What I also liked was the atmosphere... which also wasn't like any Greek restaurant I have been to before. More of a jazz club with classic rock vibes. My kind of place, with my kind of music. Just felt like home, if I could could cook as well as their chef. The place was packed when my wife and I were there, but hopefully the next time I head up there there is at least one table...

Not the cleanest. Took an hour and 20 min from seating to get food. Looked like one server fir whole place. The food was very overpriced even for a tourist trap. Had Chicken Souvlaki. Chicken was ok,a little dry,little seasoning. Rice was ok,nothing special. The roasted potatoes were best thing,but only 2. Came with greek salad served on same plate!! You never plate a runny salad on a plate with entree. Greek salad is a fave of mine and this was pretty pitiful. No peppers or olives unpeeled waxed cukes gross. Tomatoes a smidge of greens. Cheese grated on top was not feta. Dressi g didnt taste at all like the greek flvors of lemon,oregano and garlic. 33 dollars for this was a rip off. Menu was really small on choices. Id look...
