I had one of the best customer service experiences during my stay in Dawson City, thanks to the outstanding team at this property. The front desk staff, Evans and Jeff, were incredibly professional and welcoming — they truly reflect the best of North American hospitality.||I had requested adjacent rooms, and they did their best to accommodate this special request, which made a big difference to our group.||A special shoutout to Evans, who went above and beyond during a stressful situation. When the Klondike Highway was closed due to a wildfire, we were unsure of how to proceed. Evans received a message from emergency officials about a pilot vehicle leading traffic through the affected area — and he made sure to inform us immediately. Thanks to his quick action, we were able to leave Dawson safely.||While the service was excellent, I would like to suggest a few improvements to management:||The website is not user-friendly for booking. I ended up having to use a third-party site, which I generally try to avoid. I prefer booking directly with the property.||There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, which is essential, especially in a remote location. A solution like Starlink could be a great investment.||The rooms lacked basic amenities like moisturizing lotion, which is especially needed in Canada’s dry, cold climate.||There was no air conditioning in the room during a 30°C summer day, which made it quite uncomfortable.||Despite these few issues, I want to end by thanking the restaurant staff — I had a fantastic breakfast there. The service was friendly and efficient, and it was truly a lovely part of the stay.||Thank you for the memorable experience, and especially for the exceptional service...
Read moreStayed here during our HAL cruise-tour. The hotel feels appropriately rustic, and our room was perfectly nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. I have to eat gluten-free and the servers seemed knowledgeable and I had no adverse reactions. |I think it's good to adjust your expectations - you're in the Yukon, and the hotels are not going to be fancy. The internet is going to be spotty. Put your phone away and enjoy where you are! (that being said, I was easily able to access the internet almost everywhere I went in Dawson City via my phone provider - T-mobile). |I was very happy to find out the hotel has a van that will give a ride to people like me who have a walking disability. Even though Dawson City is very small, I needed some help and they were happy to provide it. |The BEST thing during our stay was to receive a wake-up call at 3:30 both mornings informing us that the Northern Lights were visible! We requested this service, and happily threw on our shoes and coats to get 'bucket-list' experience! A tip: when you look at the sky, the lights may be faint, but if you look through your phone camera, it will be much more visible! Some of our fellow travelers couldn't see them, even though the attached pictures were what we took right...
Read moreWe stayed in the hotel for two nights a# part of our cruise tour package. There are multiple buildings with rooms and we were on the second floor of the building across Third street from the lobby building. We enjoyed the second floor view, the ceiling fan, and the stand alone cooling unit (to generate white noise. The bed was comfortable. The. Bathroom was well stocked and water pressure was good. |We took advantage of the hotels laundry facilities to freshen up the suitcases mid trip. We had packed our own laundry detergent anticipating a laundry opportunity. You can get loonies at the front desk for the washer and dryer. A little tip - the laundry in the main building opens earl morning and costs $3 for each wash or dryer load. The washer/dryer in our building did not open until 8 AM, but the cost was $2 per each load.|There is no elevator for second floor access. If stairs are an issue, be sure to tell your tour guide so they can put you in a first floor room. |My one complaint: why only one suitcase holder in the room? You know that there will be two suitcases that need to be staged. |It is not the Ritz but it is nice, clean and serves your needs. It has a good classic hotel feel.|Thanks for...
