The Sluice Box Lounge - No Minors — Restaurant in Dawson City

Average experience. Sandwiches are the main fare here but also soups, salads and entrees. I would say the food was above average and the prices were reasonable. They have daily specials. Tuesday was taco night but didn’t feel like that so I had Bacardi chicken wrap and chicken corn chowder soup. Both were very good. Hubby had BBQ chicken wrap and onion rings and was also happy. Our service was slow but I think it was because they lacked the staff, their other restaurant is closed on Tuesday and there were two large parties in the lounge and only 1 server plus the bartender as far as I could tell. So the management (or Covid) is to blame for this inadequate staffing not the server. The server was working hard, professional, friendly, apologized for the wait, but his accent was a little tough to understand. Good experience but there are other places to try before I come back. We’re from the states and we drove all the way up from White Horse to drink the Sourtoe Cocktail only to be told they weren’t serving it. We called in advance a few weeks before to make sure they were serving it in the winter and the woman said yes. Would have been nice to know before we took the 12 hour round trip drive...

Good option if you are felling like pub food.

Gluten free options like hamburger buns and the hamburgers don't have breadcrumbs inside.

Great view from the patio onto the street. Good place to relax and take it all in.

If you are here for a couple of days I would suggest passing by and trying them out.
