There is so much fun to be had at this place! Where do I start?!
$20 to get in. But you only pay it once. Keep your card & you can show up every night & not pay again all season.
The drinks are good. And fairly priced - rye & ginger, tall with a lime. $7. Reasonable! It's cash only. They accept Canadian & American cash. There is an ATM on site.
3 phenomenal cabaret shows per night. You can get your picture taken for free with the performers, too! Which is a nice keepsake.
There is some food available. A couple of people I was with got a slice of pizza later in the evening & said it was "edible," but...if you're drinking & want something to eat... it's amazing! Haha
Washrooms are super clean. As is the whole venue. Staff is friendly & efficient. Large parking lot out front.
The place was packed each time we were there right from open (7pm) to close (1am). We were in Dawson City Aug 11 to 16. It was surprising how full it was during the week. We met a lot of very fun people from several locations around the world & had an amazing time!
There are card tables & slot machines & some other things (I'm not a gambler, so I don't even know what they're called! Sorry!). Maybe roulette?
The entire town of Dawson City is so historical & Diamond Tooth Gerties doesn't disappoint by boasting they are Canada's oldest gambling hall.
When the lights come on & people start to leave, don't go back to your hotel. Follow the locals to a little hole in the wall they call "The Pit." But, that's another...
Read moreSo apparently it’s ok for male staff to place their hands in female patrons who do not consent at Diamond Tooth Gerties. I was attempting to make my way to the bathroom in a crowded house and saw a path way. As I was stepping through I politely asked a male staff member if I could head that way. He placed his hands on my thigh and pushed me back saying absolutely not. I rerouted and headed to the bathroom. After the incident I returned to my friends and told them that he had placed his hands on me in an inappropriate fashion. He saw me pointing his way and gave me a smug smile and a wave. I told management what happened and their response was to victim blame me rather than say company policy does not include touching women. I explained that all he needed to do was say not to go that way and to point out a way I could go. But instead the manager again blamed me and said “we’re done here”. This was a gross abuse of male power gone unchecked by male management. If you are a woman I’d suggest finding a different venue to watch a show in...

Stay for all 3 shows. They get better as the night goes on, with the midnight show rocking the place through the decades covering some all time favourites.
Don’t forget, free water, tea and coffee, but the other drinks are reasonably priced anyway.
Food from the High Roller Canteen is basic and don’t expect much of it. The cheap stuff is reasonable, the higher end stuff seems pricey, but either way, if you like food, have dinner somewhere before you go! Triple J’s across the street is an awesome option.
The 8:30pm show attracted a full house and if you weren’t there by around 7:30pm, it’s standing room only.
The crowd thins as the night goes on and there were spare tables for the 10pm show.
By the midnight show there were lots of empty tables and chairs, but it is worth staying for. The midnight show is the best of the night and is worth waiting for!
Well done guys! It must be hard to have such a large, complicated business in such a small, seasonal town, so kudos...
