If i can give zero star, I would. That should be an option for this café. I ordered with Uber, and first of all, the food was not packed in any bag. They gave it to the delivery guy in a pet supplies box ?!!!! (Idk what that box is for, but here is the image) I was baffled, but ok, fine, they don't even have plain paper bags, fine. About the food, I got the pita bites that come with hummus, or at least that's what they said in the listing in Uber, but there was no hummus. The pita bites were just drued plain pita bread with a hint of zataar on them. Which is fine, except that it tasted AWFUL. I really hate to say this but the bread tasted like it was forgotten in the counter for days then they decided to dry it and drizzle some thyme "just a little bit" , you can not eat this thing.
I also got the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie "packed in a small paper bag about the size of the cookie" and that thing is not really a cookie , it was way too fragile, but it's ok, u can still eat it with a spoon. The taste is ok. I can't say it was bad because i was able to eat from it. It's definitely not something you try twice. It's not horrible but not good either.
I also got the date square, which convinced me that quality isn't something this cafe would care about. You can taste the low quality dates and (oats ?) , it was just bad. At this point, i was so disappointed bcuz it looked delicious in the picture. I waited about an hour to calm down before writing this, but I just can't. One can ignore the fact that they didn't pack the food well, but why was the quality horrible too !!! Sorry, not sorry, but u can not do business this way. Also, if you do not have the ability to pack the food for delivery, please do not list it in uber and mislead people, also do something about the pictures of the pita bites, they are just way too misleading. Will never...
Read moreCreative gluten free treats with lower sugar content, perfect for those of us who prefer our baking on the less sweet side. My go to is the Pumpkin Turmeric Spice Muffin made with molasses to give the moisture that gluten free baking often lacks. Many of their treats are vegan also which means a tasty coconut flavour added as the oil, but does affect the icing flavour (no dairy means it is not as creamy). If you are adapted to vegan baking, the icing is excellent!
They also have a full espresso bar, but probably most famous for their Cafe Fredo, which is essentially a bougie iced cap. There is no drip coffee in the afternoons so be ready for an americano at that time of day if that’s your go to.
I tried the Vanilla Nitro coffee for the first time today, which might be my new favourite! In keeping with the low sugar theme, it provides delicious flavour without the sweetness overhaul. It rivals my favourite S*bucks drink, which is a salted caramel cold brew no syrup.
Of note, this is a small, female-owned local business you will feel good about supporting. They were one of the only places to adopt clear masks during the pandemic to help those with hearing difficulties. Huge shoutout for making their communication more accessible!
Overall, definitely a place for celiacs to make their way out to while in Edmonton, and a tasty coffee shop for celiacs & gluten...
Read moreAfter hearing countless positive reviews, I decided to visit this cafe for a coffee date with my husband. Right from the entrance, the relaxed ambience enveloped us. The artistic décor, featuring vibrant paintings and a charming chalk-scribble wall, created a casual yet pretty atmosphere that made the cafe feel cozy and inviting.
Eager to try their famous baked goods, we ordered the much-acclaimed Pistachio Croissant and a Carrot Muffin with Cashew Cream Cheese. The Carrot Muffin was a delightful surprise – it struck a perfect balance of flavors. The sweetness was just right, with a subtle hint of cinnamon that added a lovely depth. It was a treat I would definitely return for.
However, the Pistachio Croissant was a letdown. Despite its high recommendations, it turned out to be chewy and lacked freshness. Judging by its reputation, I expected a light and flaky delicacy, but unfortunately, it missed the mark.
For drinks, we opted for a Cold Mocha and a London Fog. A bit to our disappointment, the cafe doesn’t offer drink customization. When I requested extra milk, I was told it wasn’t possible. This was a peculiar and somewhat restrictive policy, detracting from the overall experience.
