You had me at All You Can Eat - Didn’t disappoint! Edmonton needed a new spot with quality food. We got what we needed and more, the variety was exceptional. $45 a person in the evening. Got seated at 445pm. The server let us know we have 90min time limit. She was very pleasant and attentive. Walked us thru the menu (or so we thought - more on that later) and placed our first order on the one sheet. Important to read carefully upon ordering. Some items included 2 pieces. Others just 1. Either way not a big deal because you can order more of needed. For example, ordered mushrooms. Got two mushrooms. lol Which honestly I don’t hate because it limits the waste of food in the long run. Excessive leftover food will result in additional charges. Any sashimi had a 30 piece limit. Really tender and fresh. Nice cut. Impressed with the quality of the Ungi. The hot stone cooking was my favorite. Looking at other tables as the restaurant filled up (which it did within 30min, 45min wait for a table by the time we left at just after 6pm on a weekday) and what they were ordering, I’d order more shrimp and seafood for the hot stone cooking. Not to mention some side table hot pot. Smaller bowls but with everything else just a nice accompaniment. Wish I had more guidance from the server in that regard but I won’t hold it against her. It was busy and everyone in there was trying their best! Fun spot I’d suggest to check out with a group of people to try all the things! Looking forward to returning! Washrooms were clean but only 4 woman’s stalls. Ambiance was relaxed and also clean. Very prompt at cleaning up the plates when done. Parking is kind of a premium if you want to enter thru the street entrance. If you can’t find parking you can go around the side of the hotel and enter through the lobby. I’d book a reso if you can. The waitress mentioned it’s way quieter weekdays than weekends.

I’ve been going to Sushi Toshi’s northwest location for years, and it has always been one of my favorite spots for sushi. Recently, I had the chance to try out the new Sushi Toshi South, and I’m happy to say it completely lived up to the same high standard I’ve come to expect. The staff at the south location were incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They really make you feel like a valued guest, which adds so much to the dining experience. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. The food, of course, was outstanding. The sashimi was some of the best I’ve had—fresh, clean, and cut beautifully so it practically melted in my mouth. The sushi rolls were just as impressive, with a freshness you can taste in every bite. The rice was seasoned perfectly, the fish was vibrant and full of flavor, and the overall balance in each roll showed real attention to detail. I also love the wide variety of options on the menu; whether you want something traditional or one of their more creative specialty rolls, there’s always something exciting to try. What really sets Sushi Toshi apart for me is consistency. After years of enjoying the northwest location, it’s clear that the south location is just as committed to quality, freshness, and friendly service. It’s comforting to know I can visit either one and expect the same fantastic experience. Sushi Toshi South has quickly become another go-to spot for me, and I’ll definitely be back often. If you’re a sushi lover, both locations are absolute gems.

Sushi toshi on the south side. Looks like the new nice place to hang out and have amazing sushi, all you can eat, Shabu-Sabu, and all the different cuts of sashimi sushi meat, soups, with the opportunity to prepare your steaks on a hot stone. Even on a Tuesday night they are extremely busy. You'll find families and couples in all sorts of groups, hanging out and having a great time eating there all you can eat sushi. We had Felicity helping us out and she was great. Always checking up on us, making sure our used plates were cleared, filling up our drinks, and ensuring our order forms were getting completed as we filled them out throughout the night. Even though you have an out 90 minute time limit, it seems that you'll have enough time if you're able to order most of your food ahead when you get started that your food will periodically show up throughout your meal. You can sit at tables which they have tables for large parties or tables for two or tables for four or six. The atmosphere is buzzing with people laughing and having conversations and some watching a TV at the bar. Seems like it's a very good place to go, for your sushi sashimi BBQ meat fix. The adult pricing is approximately just over $40. The parking available is based on what the hotel can provide, so is there some sort of conference or event happening? You'll probably have to look for parking in the main lot above ground or underground. Otherwise it's also a great location in the South part of the city.

I recently dined at Sushi Toshi in South Edmonton for an evening meal, and while the food itself had promise, the overall experience was significantly overshadowed by disappointing service and poorly managed expectations.

To begin with, although the restaurant was not busy and had plenty of available tables, our server continuously reminded us multiple times throughout our meal about the 90-minute dining limit. While it’s understandable to have a time policy in place, it’s entirely unnecessary and frankly disruptive to remind guests every few minutes (“you have an hour left,” “you have 50 minutes,” and so on). It made what should have been a relaxed evening feel rushed and uncomfortable. The tone used by our server also bordered on rude, which only added to the frustration.

The food service itself was also confusing and poorly handled. The menu indicated that certain rolls were served in 2-piece portions, so we ordered five portions expecting to receive 10 pieces. However, when the rolls arrived, we were only given two pieces repeatedly. This issue happened more than once and created a lot of confusion and unnecessary back-and-forth. On top of that, the rolls took a very long time to arrive. Yet ironically, just as we finally received them, our server returned once again this time to remind us that we only had 30 minutes left and should begin our second round of ordering.

The pressure didn’t stop there. Before our second round of food even arrived, he returned yet again this time informing us that we only had 10 minutes left and asking for our dessert selections and whether we were ready to settle the bill. At this point, we were understandably annoyed, especially since we were still eating our first round and hadn’t received the rest of our order.

We expressed our concerns to a different server, who was polite, respectful, and empathetic. She quickly assured us that we could stay a bit longer to finish our food, especially since the restaurant was clearly not busy. We explained the situation to her, and she kindly said she would speak with the original server. While we appreciated her support, the initial server soon returned once again this time with our bill and a final time warning: “you only have three minutes left.” Even after we had paid, he came back and began clearing plates with food still on them, which felt intrusive and frankly disrespectful.

Another point of confusion was the restaurant’s policy of starting the dining timer once drinks are served. While this might seem efficient from a business standpoint, it’s frustrating when the food arrives late and yet customers are still expected to stick strictly to the time limit, regardless of delays. I also want to point out that even though the restaurant was not busy at all and there were many empty tables they were still adamant to kick us out after 90 minutes.

Overall, while the food was decent, the service ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal. We left feeling rushed, disrespected, and disappointed. If a restaurant is going to enforce a strict time limit, it should be done with tact and professionalism not with repeated interruptions and pressure that detracts from the dining experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location based...

So I went today for the first time, I’ve heard great things about the other location, so I decided to give the southside location a try. I was disappointed. I understand it’s the first week of opening, but I feel like there should be a lot more preparation before a grand opening to ensure the best experience for customers.

Seating and service: we walked in around 6:30, the front desk is very chaotic. There’s not really a system. You just have to squeeze in and get there to put your name down. Once we put our name down, we were told it was about an hour and a half wait, which was true, When we finally got our table, they seated us in a small room of about four tables that has horrible ventilation, which usually isn’t a problem, but the hot stones have a lot of smoke, so it was very stuffy and smoky. I had asked for a different table due to my asthma and the front desk worker was extremely dismissive and rude, and said there was no other tables available.

Service and food: We waited almost 30 minutes to even get our drink orders in, when we finally did, another waitress came and asked for drink orders (no communication) then we had finished our food order, and one of us had to actually get up and hand it to one of the waitresses since no one was attending to us. The food took another 30 minutes to arrive, and it was so scattered, usually appetizer should come first, but instead, we got them in very weird orders. Also they forgot about 1/4, of our orders, also other tables food was arriving at ours, picked up and brought back to the correct table.. when they brought our raw meats, they did not bring our hot stone, about three different waitresses had told us they were going to get when finally a different worker about 30 minutes later finally brought one. Overall, food was not bad, some was really tasty like the shrimp, and chop chop nigiri but the service just outweighed the quality of food. They did give us free dessert because we kept complaining. Unfortunately I will not be back, and I hope that they will organize a better system to provide five star service eventually… I will however note that our waitress was extremely apologetic and sweet at the end, I could tell they’re very overwhelmed, I know it was not their fault, but who ever runs the place needs to...

Recently we dined at this venue to celebrate an occasion. It was only two people so we just decided to walk in. There was no line or anything, so i thought its a great time to dine and enjoy the food.

We got a table and given the paper to put in our orders. Since we already knew and avid fan of the north branch. I was so eager to indulge and experience the new branch. But to my dissapointment it didnt live up to the expectations. I knew it was a newly open branch. So much to learn and train there staff.

Upon ordering, the waitress didnt ask us if we were alergic to shellfish or anything. We told them to please separate the tempura yam, with the prawn tempura. As my partner cannot have any prawns and allergic to it. All the fried order came to us in one basket, yam and the prawns came in one basket. They also gave us one dipping sauce for it. When i mentioned she cant have anything contaminated with prawns. So i had to ask for another one.

Next is i was eager for the sashimi, nigiri and rolls. But they serve the steak and stones first. I dont know if thats there way to make us full already. Ive waited for almost 25mins. follow up on my rolls and philadelpia rolls. Which they told me it really takes time. While seeing my first order was given to the wrong table. The nigiri that came to us is not proportion with the rice to fish ratio. The pop refill took alot before it get to us, not to mention they didnt check if it still has soda water, because it didnt have carbon or fizz. Not to mention the sashimi slice was soo small.

They kept hurrying picking up stuff in our table, we felt like we are being rush and not able to enjoy our meal. Since we are only two person and the table is good for four people.

So i took the bill and paid for it and left. I leave these review not to hurt the bussiness, But to have them know what they should fix. Im a big fan of the north branch. But these branch well.I wont be dropping by...
