Hilton Garden Grille and Bar in Sudbury is our favourite hidden, staycation city gem. Every bite of each dish is delicate, vibrant and beyond fresh. My mouth is watering as I type this at the memory of trying a taste of my spouse’s dish. Back to our recent experience… it was Saturday evening and with no reservations, we dropped in as it was my birthday. We were pleasantly greeted by Mitchell and offered some options for seating in a few cozy areas with privacy. This spot does have it's busy nights, along with live entertainment a night or two per week but our night was a quieter evening. After hearing the features, we each decided on Mushroom Bisques as our appetizers, my spouse had the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Shank with Mushroom Risotto and I had one of my faves, their Pan-Seared Local Pickerel with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes for our mains. We shared a Chocolate Mousse for dessert. (Usually we opt for the gnocchi as it is made in house daily and it is to die for, melt in your mouth bite size pillows with a savoury sauce. I’m Italian, these gnocchi are comparable to my Nonni’s.) Short story, long.. the bisque is incredible and the lamb shank with risotto are to die for. If you’re from out of the area or in the area - this local pickerel is prepared like no other. Try Chef Alfred's creations, try it all! The staff are all truly wonderful - shout out to our first-rate server Mitchell and the impeccable cooks for our fabulous evening!! :)

After hearing the hype about this restaurant it was time for us to try it out. I know it sounds unconventional going to a restaurant in a hotel, but trust me the visit is worth it. The 4 of us went on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was quite busy and there was live music to top off the experience. The musical guest was very talented and played a lot of recognizable music from various eras, however, I found the volume a little too loud when trying to have a conversation. Aside from that the entertainment was welcomed. Our server was super attentive and provided us suggestions regarding our order. Our appetizers, mains and desserts were fantastic. As a vegetarian the butternut squash ravioli was to die for! Yes the prices are a little high, but that is commonly seen in hotel restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our night out and I hope to see more vegetarian options the next time I return.

I went down to the restaurant for the music, they have it every Wednesday and Friday. The singer was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding! Jessica is one of the best waitresses I have ever seen!

Delicious food, Great service.

I visited Garden Grille with a table of 4 on a Friday evening. Our waitress was fantastic. Attentive, efficient and always smiling. Very welcoming.

All 4 entrees were delicious, and prepared perfectly, I was quite impressed. But i have to mention, I ordered 3 appetizers, and for the price points, these dishes were underwhelming. The carpaccio in particular, over priced, small portion and just wasn’t good.

Now as far as the atmosphere. They have live music Wednesday’s and Fridays starting at 7pm. I will say, that the musicians were talented, But it was just too loud. Hard to keep conversation flowing.

Our bill was $400 with tip for the 4 of us. The quality of the entrees was truly fantastic. I feel this price point is on par.

Overall, a good experience with some things to work on.

Thanks...
