It brings me no joy to have to give this a 1 star, but I feel like it is my duty to be honest about the experience and warn others of how it was and perhaps incentivize upper management to fix things. To make things clear, the staff on site were polite and did what they could, but the problems went deeper than that. My stay was in late August, where the hotel was likely completely full. There was a concert that weekend as well as some sort of card game competition happening at the hotel.
I was staying with other family members, including my then 16 month old daughter.
One of the first things that happened was the elevator got stuck. This prompted that one elevator remain turned off and the working one to only have 4 people in for the remainder of the trip. It also didn’t help that the elevator was tiny to begin with. Due to having a toddler, we always had to go down with the stroller which would result in long 15+ minute waits for the elevator. Even when it done come, it was often over the 4 people limit, not to mention suitcases so we could not go in. We did end up going many times up and down the stairs (from the 5th floor), with the toddler and the stroller in hands. I understand that technical problems happen, but something like this with a full hotel for 4 days does not seem acceptable. It should also be noted, the stairs smelled of urine.
Due to having a toddler, we requested the crib for our room. This request was not noted and staff were surprised to find out when we arrived. They had to scramble and hope to find one, which I’ll give them props as they did. Unfortunately the crib was absolutely awful! The bars were very tall and awkward to put a baby in, the mattress may as well have been a concrete slab as it was so hard. My baby who usually wakes up only once a night, woke up at times over 6 times in one night during our stay.
Even without the waking baby, there was not much sleep for us either (even our family in other rooms), because the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. I don’t know when is the last time they were changed, but this was probably the most uncomfortable bed and pillows I’ve ever had. Its hard to explain, and more of a case of “you know an uncomfortable bed when you feel one”.
To make matters even worse, the light switches are the type that glow in the dark. This would normally not be a problem and should be a feature, unfortunately though it would constantly flicker and was right in our line of sight while we lay in bed. This also doesn’t yet cover the flashing light for the smoke detector, which would practically illuminate the room every few seconds.
Unfortunately it does not end there, the room was very hot so we needed to turn on the air conditioner, which was also extremely loud. We had to practically chose between discomfort related to temperature or discomfort related to noise.
As if this weren’t enough, around day 2 of our stay, we were suddenly woken up in the middle of the night by a loud buzzing and rattling. Turns out it was the mini fridge in the room for some reason, which we were forced to pull the plug from. As we went behind the TV stand to do so, we found an absolute disgusting mess, that probably hadn’t been cleaned in years.
All this together unfortunately made for a very unpleasant and sleepless trip. I’ve always enjoyed staying at Best Western, so it makes me sad that this one has been neglected to this point. If any upper management of this one is reading, please do consider visiting the rooms, inspecting their cleanliness, functionalities and reviewing all the mattresses and pillows. This hotel should have everything to be an easy 5/5 with its structure and location. It saddens me that this was the experience we have and hope to warn others of it, or prompt some...
Read more太糟糕了。在我退房后的8个小时候,酒店管理打电话过来用很凶的语气质问我偷走了房间内的毯子。然而我根本没有拿过,退房的时候毯子还在房间内。可是酒店管理一直说毯丢失了,并且完全不顾我的意愿直接从我的信用卡上支付了75美元,要我承担毯子丢失的责任。这实在是太糟糕了。我不觉得酒店的服务有多好,而且房间也不干净,床上有各种脏东西,我叫前台帮忙换一下也没有人来。只能打0分,绝对不会再住了。
so terrible. Eight hours after I checked out, the hotel management called and asked me to steal the blanket in the room in a very fierce tone. However, I did not take it at all, and the blanket was still in the room when I checked out. However, the hotel management said that the blanket was lost, and charged $75 directly from my credit card regardless of my will, he said I was responsible for the loss of the blanket. This is really too bad. I don't think the hotel's service is good, and the room is not clean. There are all kinds of dirty things on the bed. I called the front desk to help me change it. No one came. Can only play 0 points, will never live again.

Cependant, je ne l'ai pas pris du tout, et la couverture était toujours dans la chambre quand j'ai vérifié. Cependant, la direction de l'hôtel a toujours dit que la couverture avait été perdue et j'ai payé 75 dollars directement à partir de ma carte de crédit, indépendamment de mon testament, et j'étais responsable de la perte de la couverture. C'est vraiment dommage. Je ne pense pas que le service de l'hôtel est bon et la chambre n'est pas propre, il y a toutes sortes de choses sales sur le lit. J'ai appelé la réception pour m'aider à la changer. Ne peut jouer que 0 point, ne vivra plus jamais.

Schade. Acht Stunden nachdem ich ausgecheckt hatte, rief mich die Hotelleitung an und bat mich, die Decke in einem sehr heftigen Tonfall im Zimmer zu stehlen. Aber ich nahm es überhaupt nicht, und die Decke war immer noch im Zimmer, als ich auscheckte. Die Hotelleitung sagte jedoch immer, dass die Decke verloren sei, und ich zahlte unabhängig von meinem Willen 75 Dollar direkt von meiner Kreditkarte, und ich war verantwortlich für den Verlust der Decke. Das ist wirklich schade. Ich glaube nicht, dass der Service des Hotels ist gut, und das Zimmer ist nicht sauber. Es gibt allerlei schmutzige Sachen auf dem Bett. Ich rief an der Rezeption um mir zu helfen, es zu ändern. Niemand kam. Kann nur 0 Punkte spielen, wird nie wieder leben.

Read moreUPDATE Below; Was there celebrating 30th wedding anniversary. The hotel is centrally located between rene-levesque Boulevard and St Catherine Street. It is located within ten blocks of everything! All the food options and shopping you could want! There is a wonderful hairdresser on the ground floor of this hotel, and the wife personally had her hair done there, and she stated it was the best she had ever had done! The price was great and the hairdresser was amazing! Highly recommend the hairdressing salon. On our second last night there we encountered a critter on the the TV screen. Having travel to the Caribbean seven times we saw these before. Can't say I've ever seen them in Canada and we were quite surprised. I will say there was no indication anywhere in the hotel that would lead you to believe you ever would see these? But nevertheless, it was there. I notified front desk staff as soon as I saw it and took a picture. It had ran into a paper bag laying beside the wall. I trapped it in the bag and brought it down to show the front desk staff. I was very discreet and asked to go away from the front desk as others were checking in. I would have to say he was a bit shocked and not sure how to react. I reassured him I was not there for a discount or comping the room, simply letting them know that it existed in the rooms they were renting. He offered drinks and food to be complementary and sent to our room but we were at the end of our day and that would have just gone to waste. He said I will absolutely apply a discount to your booking and upon check out you will notice a lower balance. I said if you feel that is appropriate sir I will leave that to you? Upon checking out the following morning. There was no discounting of the room rate, and or any coupons to come back or a food voucher for Cora's restaurant. My wife and I were left with the impression this may happen more often than we think? The F1 was in town starting that day and our room was renting for $2,450 for the next three days.
As to the Properties Response; I am repeating what the young gentlemen stated and offered at the time. He is your employee, I would ask him what he was referring to? The CORA's Restaurant not 10m from your front desk, inside your Hotel could be what he was referencing when he made the offer? I should note, we did not take anything from the young man, and thought this will get passed on to day Manager and we would be contacted and or spoken with upon check-out the next morning. Neither happened, and so we posted this review. Feel free to contact us, should you wish to confirm we speak the truth. Also if you check the other 5000 plus comments, reviews, pics and responses to them, this is one of the very few containing less than wonderful review info, which we strongly avoid.
