This is an apartment in a Courtyard Setting in the Middle of Downtown Montreal, just off the Main Shopping Street St Catherine. The neighborhood is beautiful, with many great shops and restaurants just outside your door. It is centrally located for most all Montreal Attractions and only a short drive to Mount Royal, and The Old Port. The unit is a clean, modern, 1 BR and 1 TINY Bath with the smallest sink possible. Also a a kitchenette, but NO Dishwasher. These are the Positive Attributes. However, this is not a good option for a short stay of just a day or two. The unit is on the third floor, of many stairs, and NO Elevator, so if you have lots of heavy luggage, or if you are not "fit," it is difficult to bring your luggage to and from your room. There is NO laundry in the unit, nor one in the complex we were aware of. There is no daily housekeeping, and the rental agent insists you WASH any dishes and silverware before departure. The sitting area is tiny, and barely enough for two people to sit comfortably. There is a restaurant downstairs, open late and loud. While this may be an appropriate choice for a week or two, for no more than 2 people, although more comfortable for one person, it is not a good choice as a substitute for a traditional...
Read moreI had a booking with this operator and had to cancel it due to their parking situation. As it turned out, the only place on their Expedia listing where it was noted they provided no onsite parking, or had an arrangement with a provider, was if the site visitor click through in a section marked "Pets" followed by "You need to know." I missed that completely. When I cancelled I was charged $65 or 10% on a booking that was for months in the future. The operator refused to refund the money stating that their Expedia listing was very clear. In desperation I contacted Expedia. I was very grateful for their intervention and the the refund. Communication with the operator was difficult as they accepted no responsibility for the quality of their listing. Now, having read other reviews, I see that I'm not alone in experiencing difficulties. The bottom line is that I did not want to park my vehicle at a neighbourhood public parking lot that had no relationship with the operator. Plus, since my wife needs her scooter or wheelchair on occasion, I needed information about parking that the operator could...
Read moreThe door from the flat is shaky, meaning it looks like with a big push you can force it and there's a huge gap between the door and the floor. It's also a shame that the rooms cannot be made completely dark, as there's a pretty amount of street lighting entering the room. The city noise is not something this flat can deal with but the airco noise is just horrible?! You can barely still talk to each other. For the remaining stuff, they really need to fix a lot of things in the apartment, like the wardrobes, the bathroomdoor, the tiles, the paint. The railcurtain in the kitchen is disgusting.
The service was great, they answer really quickly and everything was correct. It's also a self-checkin and out so that's handy too.
We did got lost a bit the first day with the codes and where to enter, it could be visually be reinforced how to get there somehow once passed the first door. Also a note about the garbage...
