So we hit hard times and had no choice but to stay here because it was the cheapest. Of course since it was cheap, the rooms were cheap in quality. Our first night we had someone pound at our door at 4AM but when we looked out the window, no one was there and as soon as I closed the curtain, the pounding started again. No answer after asking who it was three times, it didn't stop until we said we were calling the police. The morning after when we informed the owners, the man said if it happened again we should call him and not the police. They emphasized we were NOT to call 911. Potentially leaving our lives in their hands. Shady. It was a terrible place but better than the streets. If you have bad health or are handicapped. This place is not for you. They will think of ANY reason not to give you your deposit back. They're rude, they are nosey, and demand you buy certain expensive bags for your garbage. They make you separate it and will try to make you put other peoples garbage in their industrial size bags. Such happened when I took our garbage out. Other people left the same kind of bags as ours. So they expected me to do THEIR job of separating strangers garbage. If you have people trying to get a hold of you through their phone, they will lie and tell them you're busy or gone out. Inspect the room before you stay. Take photos or video of your walk through because they will blame you for any dirt, garbage or damages. They blamed us for their toilet running on and leaking. It was like that when we got there. It was dirty. They tried to keep our deposit for their disgusting bed covers. They were stained and haven't been washed in forever. We used our own to put over it to avoid any germs or bedbugs. My mom accidentally spilled pop on hers. They accused her of wetting the bed and refused to believe it was coke. They tried to keep the deposit for the bed sheets. We were more than willing to pay for the cleaning but they demanded the full 100$. Those bed covers are NOT worth 100$. We washed them ourselves and brought them back. Yet still they wanted to be paid for it. They tried to blame me for the stains on mine, but when I first got there we requested that they remove their bed covers so we could use our own. As they took them off, we all saw the stains, they were pointing at the stains and speaking to each other in their language. Yet still had the audacity to accuse me of leaving those stains. If you have lung problems like my mom, demand a non smoking room between two other non smoking rooms. Because if you are staying beside a smoker, you will be smelling it the whole time. There is also a basement beneath the rooms.. They like to listen in on their guests. They know if you're showering or if the toilet runs on. Another thing they blamed us for. The toilet kept running since we got there. He knocked on the door. Christmas Eve. He didn't care. He came in and acted as if we broke the toilet. We did not... After he left, I found and fixed the problem. Before we moved out, we put our garbage into bags and left it in the bathroom and offered them money to pay someone to take out the garbage. We did this because my mom and I both have heart and other health problems. Heavy lifting is something we have to avoid. Even though we informed the woman, the owners wife, that there was garbage in the bathroom, they flipped their lids accusing me of being lazy. They started screaming at my mom acting as if we hid it from them when we told them. The wife said it was fine and we offered to leave a massive tip for the cleaning lady. Then an hour later she acted as if the conversation never happened when her husband(the owner) began freaking out after he saw the six bags. He was saying there was twenty bags. Those bathrooms are TOO small for that many. Most motel/hotels take the garbage out for you. Not this place. I am grateful we had a place to go but we will NEVER stay their again. We'd rather stay on the streets. So it is zero stars from us. But it would not let me post my review unless I rate it at least one star....
Read moreWe were en-route to Niagara on the Lake to visit with friends the next day on Sunday. Even though we live in Buffalo and were coming from Toronto, it was more convenient to stay in Niagara Falls, ON since we were that much closer to NOTL and didn't have to worry about crossing and recrossing the border.||||The motel's location was convenient itself based on location but that's as far as it goes. There were people there who appeared to be long term residents but they did not bother us even with all the smoking and drinking they did because they were far enough away and none of the messed with us or our car. The room was small to begin with and hard to get around. There was no place to store one's luggage and so we had to be creative in where to put it without tripping. The flat-screen TV was tiny and it had a limited selection of stations. WiFi did not work at all. The bathroom was a joke. First, there were little bugs crawling around the wall and the shower was hard to use (difficulty in controlling the flow of water) though the temperature stayed consistent for both my wife and my showers. The toilet did not work that well and consequently almost overflowed once but I was able to shut it off in time to avert a disaster. ||||Speaking of bugs, there was a big one on the side of one of the beds but that was all I can find. In addition, I stripped the beds checking for anything further and there were none. ||||The owner was nice enough to sell us a room and even went to so far to show it to us, but when we asked him for extra towels and face cloths, he granted our request but was less than happy to do it and gave us a cold "good night". We also asked for an extra hour for check out (we do that when we travel and never had a problem) and it was granted by his wife, but again not very friendly. As soon as we checked out five minutes before the appointed hour, he came around with his wife to check the room out for "damage" and released xxx$ he held on my credit card for that (I guess) and for the room key (I dared not ask him for a second key when I checked in). On that note, the door was hard to open with the key and I had trouble closing it when we went out for dinner.||||Breakfast was included and was average but it was filling and good. ||||We needed a place to stay and we needed two beds and this motel was cheapest for what we were looking for. Unfortunately Niagara Falls like many other tourist areas are overall expensive and I could not find anything better for what I could afford at the time. This place is fine if you are in such situation as ours but if you want something better and you are staying longer and if you can afford it,...
