I was visiting friends and for the first time stayed at an INN in Stratford instead of their home due to the pandemic and for extra comfort. It was within walking distance of their place and as an extra bonus is in the heart of Stratford. So easy to get to the shops and restaurants. ||I stayed at the Perth and County Inn which is joined with Edison’s and all rooms are on the main floor. Checkin was easy with instructions sent via text first thing in the morning with codes to get in the building and into your personal room. I also received a phone number if for any reason I needed to reach someone. ||The room was awesome with a very comfortable bed and all of the necessary amenities. It was super clean. I was travelling alone and had ample room.||I couldn’t figure out the digital device on the wall to turn on some AC for air circulation. Also, I couldn’t find any instructions on the table in the room on how to use the device. ||The slight drawback to rooms on the main floor is a little bit of noise during the the wee hours of the morning as guests returned to their rooms upstairs. They were very respectful and very quiet, but it is an older building so you will hear doors and footsteps going up the stairs if you are not used to that and are a light sleeper. ||I was very grateful to have parking right outside our door as their are 4 dedicated parking spots for this part of the Inn. ||I totally missed the coffee shop and had no idea where it was, or where to find something to eat on the go early the next morning. |Will have to look a little harder the next time. ||Overall loved this place and the boutique style of the rooms. Would highly recommend to anyone for their next stay...
Read moreWe stayed at the Edison Inn in early June when everything was still closed. To start with this Inn felt more like an AirBnB than a hotel. No need to wait in a line…the owner sends a text the morning of check-in with everything you would need such as a door code to get into the building and the room, as well as parking and other info. Something important to note is that there is no elevator and there are a good amount of stairs; just to keep in mind if attending with anyone with a physical disability! It was very wam outside but the room was nice and cool, even with it being on the upper level.
We stayed in the Music Room (I think that’s what it was called), The decor was well thought out and very unique. There was a large TV mounted on the wall, wifi, a mini fridge that they stocked with chilled water in a glass jar. Then there were small touches such as wine glasses, umbrellas, blankets, shampoo/soap, etc.
The only things I felt were missing was shelving to put clothing on, there is a boudoir where you can hang a few items but the shelving all had extra linens on it so there wasn’t any space for clothing. And secondly….coffee! However, directly under the Inn is Edison’s Coffee Shop but since this was during the lockdown, it was closed (we were also there mid-week). To sort of make up for this I think, the owner gave us coffee on him at the VERY nearby Cafe Bouffon (which I also recommend…specifically the cinnamon roll-looking danish - tastes better than it looks even!).
I have no actually complaints - it was a wonderful getaway and I look forward to returning now that the city is...
Read moreI always enjoy my stay at this exceptional hotel in Stratford, a town renowned for its vibrant Theatre Festival. It is an experience like no other. Each room in the hotel is unique, brimming with its own character and spirit. My personal favorite, the Edison room, is where a young innovator once lived. By a delightful stroke of luck, I was upgraded to the Celebration room, a space that elevated my senses and spirituality. This room, graced by the presence of famous writers, holds their spirits and ideas, subtly inscribed on the walls with invisible ink.
A standout feature in Celebration was the elegantly crafted desk. Positioned by a window with a serene view of the river and surrounding trees, this desk provided an unparalleled sense of calm and clarity. It proved to be the perfect spot for organizing my thoughts and letting creativity flow.
The deep hot tub in the room added a layer of royal pleasure and luxury, making my stay feel truly extraordinary. The hotel's charm and thoughtful details made my visit to Stratford...
