Stay away from Wings Vernon! The chicken wings were a 7 out of 10 . Apart from the chicken wings, the service overall was average. We are a sports team (different from review below) visiting Vernon for a tournament and were happy to be seated without a reservation at 9:00pm. Orders were taken and food was inconsistently delivered. The worst part of our experience was getting our individualized receipts with a mandatory 20% gratuity. I understand that there is a higher than normal gratuity for larger parties but normally the waitress/waiter should advise you ahead of time. We had about 12 different receipts and only some were advised of this gratuity (I was not). The worst part of our experience was how long it took to get our receipts- 30 minutes after we all requested them. The restaurant was not busy. Once we received the receipts, it took another 20-30 minutes to process payment. The entire group was frustrated and angry. I approached the only male waiter and expressed my frustration on behalf of the group and he rudely mentioned “the machine is broken” with no guidance on other solutions. I politely asked why I was not informed about the 20% gratuity and how high it was in light of the lack of service and his poor attitude toward me. Unfortunately, he could not answer my question. I asked him what his name was and he rudely said “Why? I’m not giving you it”. My intent was to address by his name to appease the situation. I then asked him who the manager was as I would like to speak to him/her and he rudely pointed and said “the girl over there behind the bar”. I approached the Manager and I mentioned that I would like to make a complaint on the waiter. Firstly, I mentioned my concerns about the 20% gratuity and she apologized that I was not informed. She did inform me that the boys on the team treated the waiter poorly which resulted in his behavior . She also admitted that he was one of her best waiters and because of how he was treated, he wasn’t himself. What she didn’t mention was that there were other waitresses who helped with the tables. An experienced Manager would address the situation and inform the parents of what happened. Nothing was mentioned to any of the Parents and we were shocked that Sarah used this as an excuse for the waiter’s unacceptable rude behavior. It’s clear that Sarah (Manager) and her staff would benefit on some training on customer service on the most basic level. I felt that it was unprofessional for Sarah to blame her staff’s behavior on a situation that myself and all the other parents were not aware of. It’s unfortunate there was nobody would could help salvage this unfortunate experience for a group of families wanting to have a good time. I would have expected an apology for my concerns and unhappiness but not only did she not empathize, she kept mentioning about how her waiter was poorly treated with no details on what happened. Wings is my first of three visits of the Dahl Trilogy (Wings, Top Choice, Italian Kitchen).
I had ordered cauliflower wings and tex mex fries during 2020. It is my only experience with Wings.
I temporarily rescinded my vegetarian diet for the fifth time during this quest. I tried the Fiji Flame wings.
The server Lauren warned me the wings might be more saucy than I would expect.
I didn't find the wings saucy at all, but I understand the necessary disclaimer. As someone who regularly eats spicy food, I didn't find these wings spicy at all despite being in the spicy section of the menu. I would definitely jump up to a wing with four spicy icons instead of the two that Fiji Flame had.
I overall enjoyed the taste of the wings.
Wings does daily promotions. They do a deal on Wednesdays and Sundays where you can buy wings for $12 with a separate paid beverage.
A soda costs $4.50 which really means you're paying $16.50 instead of$18.50.
So you're only saving $2 instead of the initial $6.50 you were hoping for. It's better than a kick in the pants.
I was very surprised to hear the song "Weak" by SMV playing as that is Jee-an's favourite R and B song.
My favourite part about Wings are the gigantic teddy bears. They compete with Royal Garden for my favourite NPC I encountered thus far.
Overall, give Wings a try. This is obviously the menu highlight. Just get some wings. See how they stack up against wing heavy pubs like Longhorn and Kal.
They offer free wifi.

We placed an order for 4 lbs of wings for delivery, and about half way into my meal I noticed a hair weaved throughout the batter of one of my salt and pepper wings. When we called to complain the first time, we were hung up on by Carol the kitchen manager after she argued and defended her kitchen. After calling back the second time, Carol requested photo evidence, which we immediately provided. After she received the photo, she acknowledged the hair but tried defending it saying it "wasn't very much". I put Carol on speaker and when my husband tried voicing concerns and opinions to her, she got extremely aggravated and started yelling and made our highly sensitive 4 year old cry. When we asked her to stop yelling because our 2 and 4 year were present, she exclaimed, "I am not a 4 year old!" And hung up on us AGAIN. So we called back a third time, and spoke to the front of house manager, Brendon who promised us resolve and a call back within 10 minutes. We waited 40 minutes and called back for a fourth time, to be told by the host Michael, that Brendan had left for the evening.
We have contacted the head office in Burnaby as I'm sure they would be appalled to know the quality of care and service being displayed by their managerial staff. My family, and anyone who we know, now knows about this low level customer service and will never frequent this establishment again.
All because we were not ok with ingesting parts of another human.
Do not eat here. You could get really sick. If they will deny the replacement of a meal that had evidence of hair, imagine how much you don't know about that they deny and hide....
