EDIT: responding to their comment: I have to change this review from a 3 star to a 1 for their bad communication. Never was I offered earplugs, and the front desk never offered any explanation except urging me to contact their manager. Your staff is looking to get out of trouble by saying they offered earplugs... and you can see in our communication that I was ignored through text messages. Because I was ignored through text, I called to ask for a discount on our stay as I felt cheated out of the checkout time, and they offered me to stay until 12 pm. But who in their right mind would enjoy another hour of banging? I did not have any trouble packing up. In fact, we were hurrying out as soon as possible. When I went down to check out, the front desk offered no explanation, asked me to email their manager, Autumn, and then I walked away with no trouble as I knew they could not do anything. Autumn, who never responded to my latest email, turned me to writing this review. Honestly, my "minor" experience could have been turned around, but putting the blame on your customers and putting words in my mouth by ignoring them doesn't help. Laughable experience. 1 star. Avoid at all costs. They just don't want to offer any compensation even though their guests are not getting the full experience. But lying about the earplugs, my experience, and without ever discussing any of this with me is truly the cherry on top.

This hotel is for you if you prioritize having a large room with lots of kitchen amenities. It's modern and clean. Avoid this hotel if you prioritize your vacation experience and expect some type of accountability when things go wrong.

The walls are thin and my partner and I was awoken by a loud and repetitive banging sound at 10 am. I contacted their front desk, and I was told they cannot halt their maintenance crew even though check out was at 11 am. No solution was offered and my birthday morning was truly an irritable one trying to get the heck out of there while listening to them banging above for 30 minutes straight.

I know someone is going to respond to this review by saying they've asked the maintenance crew to be quieter. But the walls are so thin, you could still hear the banging at a constant rate in a video I recorded and have sent to the manager already.

The front desk also offered to extend my stay until 12 pm (haha) and urged me to contact their manager as there was nothing else they could do. I wrote to the manager saying I was upset and disappointed to have been assigned a room directly below a scheduled maintenance and asked if they could offer some type of compensation for my stay.

I received an email from their manager with an apology, and an explanation that maintenance is required to upkeep their hotel, but I was only offered a promise that they would give me a "generous rate" and that they would do "better" for my next stay.

I responded, stating that if they knew there was maintenance, they should have scheduled it after check out time, at 11 am, instead of starting earlier and deceiving their customers. I also stated that in January, the off-season, there should have been plenty of rooms available and I could have been assigned a different room. To me, it felt like a lack of planning and a lack of accountability after a mistake was made.

I have yet to receive a response from my latest email on Jan 10th, so tell me, would you give the Oswego another chance if this was your experience? Personally, I would prioritize somewhere who would ensure my first impression is good, and have me leaving happy the first...

So, I request an early check in to watch the NFL playoffs at noon and they give it to me! I'm thinking...great! this is going to go well!

Think again...

Get there and the TV is the size of a monitor and doesnt work. No clear directions on how to make it work...press 10,000 menu items to try to get it to work...not happening...missed NFL playoff game kickoff. Left room while personnel working on TV and went to sports bar to watch the game. Came back to room later to watch second NFL playoff game and TV working...great! Watched game.

Bed is small and not too comfortable, air is so dry at night it made our throats hurt and caused several wake-ups...dont know if this hotel could include a humidifier?

The room provided a bag of coffee and a french press style coffee maker...I got up early and attempted to make my girlfriend coffee before she heads to work...two burners keep turning themselves off automatically! I call down to the front desk to ask why this is happening...they don't know! I can't even boil water!...good god!....i just know I am not this stupid! They say they'll send somebody up but i say no I will skip for now (knowing that tech support in canada wont be available for at least another four hours).

The fall back coffee plan for me (girlfriend was already long gone without coffee!)...

hotel provided vouchers for a baked good and a non alcoholic beverage starting at 8:30 am...I show up at 8:30 am and nobody is there to serve this coffee and baked good!

I have to ask the person at the front desk to make the coffee and pull out a plastic bin with day old "baked goods" 🤣...

Just omg a comedy skit couldn't be...

Used it twice in the last two weekends (due to having a dog). First weekend was greeted with a "we don't have your reservations" but have a room for $100 more per night.

two weeks later, after getting a reservation on site two weeks before. Was greeted with, how long are you going to stay. Our reply, probably two nights, but we won't know until tomorrow morning due to weather window (we are a three year return customers).... "WELL, you have to give us a 48 hour cancelation notice"... our reply... "we're for sure not staying here.... We will sleep on the boat.." There reply.. giggle giggle...(don't like the condescending attitude.. giggle giggle)

No air conditioning, blinds don't keep the light out, traffic noise, large trucks driving by at 6:30 am, construction workers pounding on new building across the street... and THE CROWS... all before 6:30 am....

Room service is only available for a couple of hours at a time... bar doesn't open until 4:00 (bartender is there at 3:00 pm... no breakfast before 7:00 am... no food or pop machines... Exhausted and hungry... go for a walk somewhere else, they can't/won't help you.. But you will get a "how is your room" token phone call 15 minutes after you check in. (don't tell them what you need, THEY DON"T CARE)....

DID I MENTION THE BEDS ARE SMALL AND HARD..... Owned and run by Asians and build for Asians... don't need the...

We LoVEd this place. Hadn’t been here in 7 years and they keep it up so nicely that you think it is new. They have a very clean NW outdoorsy theme. Way friendly staff - wish I could remember names! But front desk were great and accommodating with a couple special requests. For example, we had a 1 bedroom for 2 nights and our friend left early due to an illness. Since we were going to then move to the bedroom- we asked for the whole room to be re-done ( so we did t catch her flu. I would expect most hotels to accommodate such a request but it was the way they seemed to understand and want to take care of it for us immediately. Nice caring touch. Breakfast is Fantastic! So friendly, and accommodated some of our friend’s dietary issues with care and grace - which frankly could have come across as a little demanding on our friend’s part :). The 1 BR is so spacious with full kitchen. Nice neighborhood views and great landscaping. I could go on. We look forward to coming back. Thanks Oswego!
