Visited: June 27, 2025, around 7:15 PM Also Visited: June 29, 2025, around 6:45 PM Took a water taxi with Victoria Harbour Ferry on two occasions, and both experiences were fantastic overall. On the first ride, from the time I called dispatch to the boat arriving was only about 3 minutes—super fast! The driver mentioned it was good timing, but I was still impressed. Dispatch was friendly, easy to understand, and even helped me find the exact spot to wait over the phone—big thanks for that! The price was very reasonable at $15 per person, and I loved that they didn’t ask for a tip. In today’s tipping-everywhere culture, it felt refreshing that tipping was left up to me. I still gave a tip afterward both times because the service deserved it. On both trips, we had Peter as our captain, and he was great to talk to—friendly, personable, and shared interesting tidbits about the area. On June 29, it took a bit longer (about 10 minutes) for the boat to arrive, but it was still faster than we expected, especially compared to another stop where people were waiting around 20 minutes just to board. The second ride was busier, with nine people total on board including Captain Peter, but it was still a smooth and enjoyable trip. Based on both visits, I’d choose a water taxi over Uber or rental bikes any day when it’s an option. I really appreciate this service! My star ranking system: 1: Bad / Don't go there 2: Could be better 3: Average 4: Above average but not the best 5: A true top notch place

The Victoria Water Taxi is an absolute gem and hands down one of the best ways to explore the beauty of Victoria’s iconic Inner Harbour! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss. The water taxis are charming, with each boat offering a scenic, relaxed ride that lets you take in the vibrant waterfront from a completely new perspective. We were impressed by how friendly and knowledgeable the captains were; they shared interesting facts about the local landmarks, the history of the harbour, and even some hidden spots along the way. The views are unbeatable—from the majestic Empress Hotel and BC Legislature to the playful otters and bustling marinas. It’s an amazing way to get around, and it feels like a mini tour every time you hop on! What’s especially convenient is that the water taxis make several stops, allowing you to explore different parts of the city at your own pace. We used it to visit Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown, both of which are must-see spots. It’s affordable, efficient, and gives you that wonderful “on the water” experience without having to book an expensive tour. Overall, the Victoria Water Taxi is a fantastic way to navigate the city, with a unique charm that’s perfect for any outing. We’d highly recommend it for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. It’s such a fun and scenic way to experience Victoria—you’ll want to ride it again and again!

While I have taken the Harbour Ferries before and enjoyed their experiences, I would stick STRICTLY to their harbour tour services. This pub crawl was a disaster. We made reservations for our group and were told that this would "hold a boat" because we had a large group. The driver specifically told us to call him when we got onto the dock, not prior because they will come right away. We did just that after our first stop and waited almost an hour to get picked up. What was worse was there was a bridal party waiting also who were told the same thing and had already been waiting 30 minutes for a boat. The organization was terrible and not worth the 15 dollars in my opinion. The restaurants are a whole other story (this is not the ferries fault so therefore it is not a reflection of them) but it is very clear that the people on the pub crawls are treated as a last resort as customers. The free appetizer for a group of four was pretty much the same thing at every stop-calamari and took forever to come out. At some of the restaurants we waited up to 30 minutes to get drinks- not acceptable when it's not even that busy and were not treated the way I would have been treated had I walked in a regular customer. My recommendation is that they actually charge more money- get better appetizers, more boat services with accurate timing and make sure the restaurants that want to participate are actually interested in providing good food, drinks and service to their customers. Word of mouth is huge, and although I am a local, I now have very poor opinions of this service. I can only imagine how horrified tourists would be attending some of these very nice looking waterfront restaurants. I will not be going back to...

I’d have to give this a COVID-19 1 star review unfortunately. We bought tickets and there were 8 in our group. The pickle pub crawl obviously knew this and we asked if there were any issues. Nope but you have to wear a mask on the water taxi. Ok fine. The entire experience is marred by redundant covid policies that make it not worth it. If you’re 2 people as an example you get 1 appy for both. If you’re 4 you get one appy! . At $25 a person, you should have 1 app for every 2 people at least. Even worse, with resto’s refusing to seat people together or refusing to sit your group at all, all the appy’s they offer are shared foods. Literally no worse way to share germs right. Let’s all eat from the same poutine...

Several of the bars on the crawl were closed like milestones. The flying otter has a terrible Covid policy where if you’re a group of more than 6 they won’t seat you even separately. Apparently this is because of commingling between tables. So instead of managing that issue and asking people to leave, they refused to seat us. But hilariously if we had of shown up as 2 groups of 4 we’d have been fine.

Lure was the first stop, good happy hour beer prices and the appy was deep fried Brussel sprouts. Good. We went to flying otter next but it was as above. Their appy was a poutine. Good. Next swans. Good beer prices and appy was fried pickles. Last was canoe, same and a hummus. Also good.

Overall though, it’s not worth risking it for the price in my opinion. Too many places are closed or not being managed well through the crawl. Save your money and do your own crawl and revisit this once...

i don’t ever write negative reviews but after a few days of deliberation i decided i should. my friends and i had a bachelorette party on june 3rd, 4 of us, and i called when we were 10 min away from the dock to order a ferry at 4:40. the operator told me to call back again when we were at the dock. no problem, i said. i called back at 4:50 when we were right outside of the dock and ordered it again, he asked me if we were standing right on the dock and i said we were just above it (about 5 second walk, i called from that area so we could see where the taxi would be approaching from). the operator very abruptly told me that i needed to call when we were on the dock. i told him very kindly that we were just waiting right above it and he hung up on me. that made me feel super disrespected and upset, so i asked another girl in our group to call. she did not hear me calling the first or second time. he asked her if i was the girl who had just called and she said no, he then interrupted her, said she was a liar and that she was clearly the same person that was calling before and hung up on her. luckily there was a boat nearby that was approaching and they picked us up.

as someone who’s worked in customer service for over a decade, i was so stunned by how he spoke to us, and it made all of us extremely upset and ruined the beginning of what was supposed to be a chill day for us. on top of this, i paid $63 for the 4 of us for the ferry after being disrespected that way, and even the operator was unpleasant. i will not...
