What a great date night! My wife and I stayed at the Oswego hotel for two days We were a little bit bummed yesterday that the restaurant was not open due to a change ownership Today we came back. We were absolutely ecstatic with the changes that were made by the new ownership
We visited three months ago, and although the hotel was exceptional, the restaurant was atrocious. We were told good things about the new restaurant from the hotel staff leading up to the reopen Our high expectations were far exceeded once we returned to the Aegir Room
We ordered the Fritto Misto, Bao Buns, Sunomono Salad And the Tenderloin Steak. Every item was absolutely exceptional. ! The room was warm and cosy with candles everywhere and the service could not have been better and more personable. On the way out, I chatted with a new owner Jason. Extremely down to earth, snd he Has a long history managing some of the most premier spots in the world!
Unfortunately, we do not return until June, But when we do, we will absolutely make an appearance at the Aegir Room...
Read moreThis is the first time we've eaten here since the renovation and new ownership. A few observations: Smalls plates included the muscles and giant prawns. Both were great. We ordered the Caesar Salad and objectively, it's a 3/10 with little flavour, hardly any green romaine (instead the veins and inner pieces), and tasteless white bread croutons. Blah. I had to request additional dressing and add salt to make it more edible. In fairness, the waitress took it off the bill. Desert offerings were described as New York Cheese Cake, vanilla ice cream or Raspberry sorbet, an uninspired offering so we skipped it. Service was poor. We had to move our plates to another table after they sat in front of us for 10 to 15 minutes without being cleared. We believe that they may be short on staff or that new staff have not been trained well.
We have high hopes that with response to feedback like this they will improve both the food...
Read moreMy coworkers and I came for a snack and drinks. The Aegir Room was highly recommended by a friend of mine, It did not disappoint! It’s a very cute & intimate room. The weather was decent and we actually sat on the patio. Beautiful south facing sunny patio. We ordered the prawns as an appetizer (We were told that they were the best prawns in town and they just might be that! ) Our entrées were the mushroom ravioli, and the 12 ounce ribeye steak. Phenomenal! Honestly, one of the best meals, service, and overall experience in quite a while. We are definite foodies, and we have high expectations. They nailed it. The staff were extremely attentive and the owner of the restaurant even stopped by the table to ask us if everything was to our expectations. (To which I explained to him that they had exceeded expectations) We will definitely...
