Read moreIt's difficult to start a review for what my wife and I experienced; I'll go over my observations before and after the tour. My wife had purchased tickets easily online before the Ghostly Walking tour. Before the GWT, we hired a pedicab to give a brief tour of Vic. We ended up at Craft (which had awesome food by the way) getting a bite to eat and I asked one of the Bartenders if he had or knew anyone that had done a Ghostly Walk. He looked at me like I was retarded; as if my wife and I were super lame for considering a tour like this. But he said it would probably be ok. It was good this happened though as it adjusted my expectation of the tour. The tour itself was great in presentation. I thought our tour guide was professional and dressed for the part of a tour of this type. He even waited a few extra minutes for any stragglers to show up. We were told some interesting stories and were provided with some interesting lore about Vic. This tour is worthwhile if you are in Vic for a few hours and you want to walk off a nice meal. There are about 6 or 7 stops in total; just make sure to use the bathroom before the...
Read moreI am a local, and I have done these tours many times over the years. I constantly learn something new each time, and I love taking friends and family along on tours to introduce them to the city and its amazing history. Last night I took friends visiting from Quebec on the Old Town & Bastion Square tour, and they loved it. They thought both John and Sheldon were amazing storytellers, and learned a lot about the areas we visited. Our residential building also hired John Adams once to do a private tour of the ghost stories and history around our building near Beacon Hill Park, everyone really enjoyed themselves and learned so much about the history literally outside our doorstep. I've also done a Chinatown tour with John as part of the recent Design Victoria events (the included photos). It was fascinating and I learned about places I didn't even know were there, despite having lived back in Victoria almost ten years. I can't recommend these tours enough, whether they be in the daytime or the evening Ghostly Walks, you learn something new each time about the rich history...
