We stayed at this place over this past weekend for a stagette, and although it was ok, I wouldn't book here again (there were 7 of us and we had two rooms for context). OK the bad stuff first:|#1) Between 7 people, we could not remember the 9 digit plus 2 pound symbol codes given to us, and you need those for EVERYTHING. Add in a bit of drinking and there was no way we could even find the paper we wrote them on. It was ridiculous. (eg. "317#213169#" ...are you kidding me?! Entering the building, your room, the pool, the gym, the garbage area, the parking...all coded areas"|#2) No AC. It was soooooo hot. Luckily we thought ahead and brought a few fans...but as an example, they leave little chocolates in the kitchen area for when we arrived, they melted to mush just from sitting on the counter. SO even with the blinds closed, and the fans on, the chocolate still melted just from being in the room. |#3) Our wifi not only didn't work, the network they gave us on our little paper wasn't even on the list to connect to. So the whole weekend, we had no wifi. |#4) No pool towels. I know this doesn't seem like a bit deal, but when your towels aren't being replenished daily, you have to bring your bath towels to the pool. And then you have no towels for showers. The front desk was hard to get ahold of and the entire time we were there, we saw someone at the front desk once. |#5) They didn't provide blue bins for recycling or large garbage bags, which would've been helpful when cleaning up (you need to take the garbage and recycling to the parking lot yourself). |#6) I found parking to be expensive. $25 a night for 1 car. We all came from different places so we had 4 cars total for 2 nights....so our group paid $200 in parking for 48 hours. 1 car free parking would have been nice. |#7) It's definitely an older building, and they're working on updating (outside exterior was all scaffolded being painted on opposite side of us)...so don't expect anything modern or new. ||Ok for the good:||#1) Having a fridge, freezer, over, stove, dishwasher, plates, cups, cutlery, etc. was nice, we didn't have to bring anything and could cook in our room if we wanted to. |#2) Although the pool area was nothing special, we had the whole pool to ourselves and the hot tub to ourselves almost the whole time. |#3) It was easy to Uber to town ($8 each way), and a few times we even walked back (20 min walk). There's also a free shuttle from 11am-7pm.|#4) I slept in a room with a bed and a pullout couch (other room had a murphy bed and pullout couch), and I can say that the bed and pillows were very comfortable.|#5) Luggage carts were accessible and always there so loading and unloading all of our stuff and decorations and drinks was a lot easier, one trip instead of 5. |#6) Parking, although expensive, was very easy.||I think we had a better time considering that we were drinking and trying to make the best of everything for the bride, but if I had booked this for a family getaway or a weekend with my husband, I wouldn't have been happy about the accommodation. I would've looked for something in the village or at least something with AC...

Read moreWe almost cancelled after we found out the pool was going to be closed and we were offered passes to the local public pool - not really what we had in mind for our 30th anniversary weekend but maintenance work has to be done at some point so we kept the booking. We have stayed in at least a dozen properties in Whistler like this over the years - they are all fairly similar really. I went through the many units available and chose #208 for it's balcony view. Unfortunately the balcony was frankly disgustingly dirty. The floor, table, chairs and BBQ were covered in dust. There was a sign above the BBQ reminding guests to clean it after use - what a joke! We did use it after cleaning it beforehand and left it cleaner than we found it afterwards. It would have been useful if a cleaning brush was supplied. The bedside clock was flashing - no big deal but the bed was so uncomfortable. It had a topper (you only need these when the actual bed is not up to standard), the bed slopes to the middle and the topper moved around as the fitted sheet didn't hold it in place. They kindly provided miniature bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash (enough for 1 person for 1 day - not 4 people for 4 days), either supply enough or not at all, same as the one filter bag of coffee - seriously! There was not any hand soap whatsoever anywhere. The rest of the unit seemed pretty clean and everything that we needed was supplied. The real kicker was the check-in procedure. We completed the pre-arrival documentation on line and were informed that the entry codes would be sent to us at 16.00 on arrival day. This is fairly standard these days especially with Airbnb's. The Vancouver traffic was especially bad on our arrival day and so when we arrived the reception and entry door was closed. We checked our emails for the code, no email received, I called the number on the door, waited for ages - no reply. Tried again, got voicemail. I checked the guest portal app - no information. We drove to Le Chamois - reception closed. I searched around the property and found a member of staff who very kindly went behind the desk, took some detailed and sent me an email with the codes attached. No - the email didn't go to junk (checked that) - it just wasn't sent. If we had not found this young lady I don't know how we would have got in. We finally got into the property at 21.19.
There's some pretty common themes to some of the problems listed in the comments about this place, they usually receive the generic BS response about improvements but it's just talk because clearly they are still ongoing. Can't wait to see the copy and...
