I have stayed for ten days in this hotel in the occasion of an academic conference.||I would definitely give more than 2* to this hotel, which is located in a semi-central, very vibrant (and safe) area of Santiago (few minutes walk from the Manuel Montt metro station, in an area full of restaurants, cafes and campuses). Some features definitely deserve 4, whilst other would be a 2**. Hence the 3 evaluation. ||4:|- Location|- Cleaniness|- Kindness of reception/room staff|- Quality/price ratio||3: The breakfast. If not included, it is priced 9,900 chilean pesos per person. The buffet is fairly varied, however only for those who do not have vegan/no-dairy requests (i.e. they do not have any soy milk or dairy-free yogurt and cheese options). Nevertheless there are some very good (and cheaper) breakfast options in the area, i.e. a colombian café right in front of the hotel, or a Starbucks around the corner where you can have breakfast for less.||2*:|- Check-in time: after 15/3pm, with very little possibility of more flexible check-in even though arriving with very early flights and letting them know in advance, as in our case. Yet you have to pay for the full day, and an extra in case they grant you early check-in.| - The spaces in the rooms are quite little; there is no proper wardrobe, no space where you can leave the luggage. If you have more than one/or big ones like us it can be quite uncomfortable. Besides, the "bathroom" layout (the shower and the basin are basically inside the bedroom) can also be kind of uncomfortable for those looking for even a little bit of bathroom routines' intimacy;|- Cleaning hours: after leaving very early in the morning, we can back to the hotel in the afternoon (around 4pm) and found staff that was cleaning our room at that time. IMHO it is a bit too late, especially if you have been out of the room (with the "please come in" sign on the door) basically all day.||All of this said, this would again be my choice if coming back...
Read moreI am just giving it 2 stars (2.5), was planning to give 1 star (like some of the previous reviewers) but the check-out lady made me give it a higher star rating.
The location is great, and we felt safe walking around Santiago as well.
The room is as expected, small but the issue I had was they gave us 2 twin beds instead of 1 double bed, we are husband and wife.
My biggest qualm or issue with our stay was the friendliness of the people working there. No smiles. No greetings. And the person who checked us in was like that and I did an express check-in before hand, because they did send an email to check-in before so that it will be faster, so I placed all our information but upon arriving this lady receptionist said she did not see it. Incompetence. So I needed to give all our information again, just thinking about this, I am re-thinking of bring back the rating down to 1 star but I will stick with 2 stars.
The check-out lady was better, we needed to store our luggage and there is a payment for this, which is crazy in itself, and she did not have any change for our available cash so she did not ask us to pay for it, small thing but...
Read moreI recently stayed at the ibis budget in Santiago, Chile and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The first thing that stood out to me was the comfortable bed - it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. Additionally, the room was clean and well-maintained, which always adds to the overall comfort of a stay.
The staff was amazing. They were always friendly, approachable, and ready to help with anything I needed. Whether it was directions to a nearby attraction or recommendations for a great local restaurant, they were always happy to assist.
Another highlight of my stay was the breakfast - it was delicious and filling, and provided a great start to each day. Finally, the hotel's location was also a major plus - it was well-located, with a tube station 5min walk from the hotel, and within easy reach of all the main sights and attractions in Santiago....
