Posada Del Salvador — Hotel in Providencia

I was happy with my stay at the Posada del Salvador. While not particularly cheap - US $56 for a double room (it is difficult to find a cheap hotel in Santiago), it is a well run hotel, with staff aiming to please (although most speak very little English). There is not much to do in the immediate vicinity, but it is a short walk to Salvador Metro station (3 mins) and just over 10 minutes to Bellavista.||||I was given a room at the front of the hotel and, after 1 night, asked to change to a quieter room to avoid the traffic noise. This was no problem. Reception were happy to arrange tours and make reservations for you, although on one day I was given the wrong time and the tour turned up whilst I was still in bed!!||||A simple self service buffet breakfast is served each day. There is free internet (they charge after 15 mins). Careful if the reception book you a taxi when you leave - the taxi driver they used tried to overcharge me. Probably better to hail one...

Sempre que vou a Santiago a Posada Del Salvador é meu endereço! Muito bem localizada, no charmoso e tradicional bairro de Providência, a Posada fica cerca de um quarteirão da estação de metrô Salvador e é próxima a mini mercados, farmácias, lojas de conveniências, etc. Também destaco a proximidade ao circuito gastronômico da Av Manuel Montt, onde é possível encontrar restaurantes especializados em gastronomia chilena, peruana, italiana, indiana, tailandesa e cubana. Atravessando o Rio Mapocho o visitante já estará no tradicional e boêmio bairro de Bellavista, com seus bares, restaurantes, pátio gastronômico, La Chascona e o Cerro San Cristóbal. Os quartos são limpos e bem cuidados. As camas e o serviço de arrefecimento ótimos. Recomendo as habitações do fundo do hotel que, além de serem de alvenaria, são mais novas, aconchegantes, e, principalmente, não recebem o barulho do movimento da Av. Eliodoro Yanez e da faculdade que fica em frente. A cordialidade e prestatividade dos funcionários é um detalhe à parte desse recanto em Santiago. Principalmente, o atendimento do Estebán, que conheço desde 2008. A equipe é muito honesta e fará de tudo não somente para que o hóspede se sinta em casa, mas também para que não caia nas armadilhas que as metrópoles sempre armam para os visitantes. Enfim, é um lugar simples, mas com excelente custo-benefício e muito bem administrado por quem entende das necessidades de um viajante. Apenas um quesito fica a desejar: o café da manhã.
